okay choice 2 it is, maybe in the future we can try choice 1 as an optional.

it can be done either way. is just #1 is a little more complicated. In any case test 12 should tell as I added switching code and LEDs for loop mode

PRES ROLL Mode
Did ROLL Mode button lit up? no it stayed neutral
What happen to the LEDs on the pads? all went out except pad 3
Did they turned off.

PRESS ROLL again
Did ROLL Mode button turned off? it flckered and stayed neutral

What happen to the LEDs on the pads? they flickered on but then stayed off
Did they turned back on.

PRESS ROLL again
Did ROLL Mode button turned off? they flickered on but then stayed off and ended up in cue mode on

Press an hold pad
Did a loop started? yes loop lengths started
Did the LED for the pad that press turned on?

PAD 1 Lit
PAD 2 nothing
PAD 3 nothing but Lit pad 2
PAD 4 Lit
PAD 5 Lit
PAD 6 Lit
PAD 7 Lit
PAD 8 Lit

Release the pad
Did the LED for the pad that press turned off? Yes

Press ROLL
did the LEDs light up according to locators. yes but not at first they stayed off until I went into cue mode and then back to roll and did the test again, so probably yes but some strange behaviour going on.

I deleted some code for the LED. Perhaps now it works to indicate ROLL mode.

Found a small error in my code. It should be fixed now.

Please perform the test again now test 13. The thing to remember is that the ROLL mode button is a toggle switch turn turned on hat mode. So when turned on light in cue mode go off and when ROLL mode is turned of it should go back to cue mode.
Happy testing.

Their are turning out to be some strange issue, and it goes between 2 separate states but not how it should be and I also have issues with the pads if and when they decide to lite up and one time all the pads lit up on the roll mode and vanished from the cue, on top of this it is proving very hard to get the controller state back to the test start point, so I did the usual select another deck mode and back again but after a while this stopped working, so I have ended up restarting the controller which worked once now even that has failed so I am stuck with cue and no pads lit. so I guess it will take some tinkering to revert, but I can eventually sort it back to the test start state.

But where also it gets tricky for me to catalogue is all the other glitches all very temperamental now, I have tried many time to write this process down and its two complex for me with all these variations and irregularity, I have also tried photos but still complex, video is tricky at moments need to wait until this eve need a second pair of hands, but even with this it will look confused on times, but guess you will see thru all my button pressing panic lol so video I will try and sort this eve.

This is where if possible we could do with a few more tester to speed things up and to get a general consensus of the issues.

The process is easy just not the outcome we/I would have expected. so not a user/tester issue in this case.

I just restarted and tried all again, although locators loaded on track no pads lit, to get the pads to light up I have to go back and two the modes a few times eventually the roll mode 2nd function pads lit , then back to cue and the pads now lit.

then back to roll - roll 1st function button lit
press roll again and now that is lit,
back to cue and pads no longer lit,

its cycling thru these various states,

is this any help

Did you tested the last file? Basically I am looking to go from cue mode to roll mode and the mode button to light up correctly.
They are dependencies of how the lights behave from one mode to the other. Those dependencies won't be resolved until the final map is done. For now the limited test results is the only thing that allows me to move forward as the documentation that is currently available is deficient.
So the last test in a nutshell
Deck I loaded with a track that has cue points so some pads are lit.
Press ROLL mode.= ROLL mode button should come on and all the CUE lights should all go off because you are no longer in CUE mod you are now in ROLL mode.
While in ROLL mode
Press and hold a pad = A loop should start and the corresponding pad should light up as long as it is being pressed.

PRESS the ROLL mode button to turn off ROLL mode
The ROLL mode button should turn off, the CUE button should be on and the PADs should light up according to what cue point were already set in the track.

That is the limited test and the expected response. Once that is confirmed to be working correctly, (we both would have learned what to expect) we can move on to SLICER and SAMPLER modes.
The following is the progression for this to be complete.

Map SLICER mode
Map SAMPLER mode
Resolve LED inter-dependencies for non-pad LEDs within Deck 1.

MAP deck 2 pads
Resolve LED inter-dependencies for non-pad LEDs within Deck 2.
Resolve LED inter-dependencies across deck 1 and 2.
MAP deck 3 pads
Resolve LED inter-dependencies across deck 1,2 and 3.
MAP deck 4 pads
Resolve LED inter-dependencies across all decks.

This a long and tedious process when it is done remotely like we are doing. However, I have some experience doing this with remote testers as I had map 14 + other controllers to Cross.

If I had the controller in hand this could all be completely mapped and tested in 5 days at the most.

Please for anyone who is testing. I will try to be very specific to the details of each test. Please focus on the limited test and disregard anything else that is happening in the controller until we get to the master test (last validation test).

Every time a test is started it should be from
power on start Cross
follow test

Any other buttons pressed or even those being tested (if done out of order) will have an impact on the results.

Okay going back to the start What is causing me and issue is maybe that Cross keep loading up my last played track (gee I hate that) so maybe this is causing all the randomness, no matter how accurate I am at this test I am still getting it doing this alternating states .

But despite this does it matter if I start Cross with a track with cues or track without cues and then drop one in with cues, does it have to be empty decks on start ?

Ps how do remove tracks from decks without a controller
