U-Mix Control Pro 2 looses usb power when in use ? :(

Postby jeromeah on 04 Sep 2013, 10:49

Hello everyone I have a strange problem with my U-Mix Control Pro 2 MIDI mixer.

when I switch the controler on. The power led suddenly turns off after about 20 seconds. It used to work great on USB power before. I thought it was a USB cable issue and bought a new cable but the same thing happens when I power the controler on.

The power led stays lit for about 20 seconds then it looses power. flicking the power switch on the back dosent work unless i restart the laptop again. I also tried a few other laptops to make sure it wasnt my laptop causing the problem but the same thing kept happening :(

sorry for the long post and thank you all in advance for all the help :D

H i my laptop i normaly use is a:

qosmio g30
the processor is a core 2 duo
and my ram is 4GB DDR2

My second laptop is a

samsung R710
procesor is a core 2 duo
and the ram is 4GB DDR3

my power settings in windows 7 are on High Peformance mode
and my USB suspend power setting is set to disabled so that the ports wont turn off to save power.

Hibernation/Standby and low power saving modes are all disabled

The power settings are set the same on both laptops. And both use windows 7 OS.

Thanks again :D

Where did you buy the controller from, the MixVibes site? or a MixVibes retailer?

I would contact them and ask for a replacement or a refund, as the product they have sold you has become faulty. See what they say.

If you paid via Paypal, then you have some protection ;)

hello everyone i had the controller sent back and but i didn't hear from the store for 2 weeks so then e-mailed them to see whats going on they replied to me saying.

Your unit has been thoroughly tested for the fault described with the manufacturer (Mixvibes), but they have been unable to confirm any issues and are confident that your unit is working correctly, to the manufacturers specification. They have advised that the issue is most likely software related and not hardware related.

the mixvibes controller sometimes powers up then works and all the buttons work as if nothing ever happened. And another time it looses power when playing music its just random.

the DVS system doesn't work neither even after a fresh reinstall of windows 7 i really don't think they had the time to set up turntables and timecodes and check the DVS system for faults themselves.

they stated to me they sent the controller back to mixvibes for through testing.

I tried everything to getting contact with mixvibes directly so that i could send my problem to them directly but i couldn't i don't even know if the mixer even when't to mixvibes.

im not even sure if it was tested properly at all. there now asking me to pay for the faulty item to be returned to me :(

is there any other directions of approach I could possibly take to this issue ?

thank you in advance for the help and support :)
