[solved]dvs7 no sound searching in a track with the vinyl

Postby AceTech on 12 Sep 2009, 17:11

Hi,

When I try to find a point uitable for slip cueing, i experience the following problem: If I place my needle on the record (not in the beginning of the vinyl) and I want to rewind it manually by spinning it counterclockwise with my hand, i get no sound during the actual action , which makes it very hard to find a good cueing point. I know you can do it digitally, but I'm used to mixing with vinyl only so is there any solutuion to this problem?

Thank you!

Reason: Solved the user found that in Options General maximum time load in ram was wrongly set to 0. Set by 12 it works well.

hi, what mode are you spinning in ? absolute ?

how do you experience the problem ? do you momentarily loose sound during the spin back ? If so this si because you are back spinning to fast for the software to decode your timecode... try spinning a little slower. This problem accures with all DVS systems if you make a drastic spin.

No, there is something wrong with your setup. Can you post a config report extracted from mixvibes with your turntable at 0 pitch.
Also send details about your computer.
You shouldn't have this problem while spinning with DVS.
Fast spin is common to all scratchers.

This latency is way too big! Can you try to change it to 12?

or between 3 to 6 ms (128 / 256 samples) see the audio panel of your sound card.
