If we map the course pitch bend we can just do it for 4 players only. So when Deck C & D are active, via the press of the center/big knob, the +/- #16 should respond when pressed. There doesn't seem to be any pitch bend capabilities for samplers so a 4-deck mapping would be cool. Thanks.
When I mapped the Vfx, I tried to follow the layout dsign for the controller as it has always been done by Mixvibes ( I don't have to follow their method since I don't work for them but I tried to stay true to their method). In doing so the + and - are maped as they provided and is labeled on the Vfx.
The alternative is to
1. map the key semitones to Shift+ pitch slider(a rick from the Pioneer DDJ-SX mapping).
2. map the + and - to coarse pitch bend holder button.
3. map Shift+ + to pitch mode
4. map Shift+ - to pitch range
That follows the model for the UMCP-2 and adds the trick from the DDJ-SX but breaks the labeling on the Vfx. You would have to remember what the buttons do despite the labeling.
This would allow you to keep the key semitones for all 4 decks, program the coarse pitch bend for all 4 decks and pitch bend for the samplers. As of lately I figured out how to map a 2 deck controller like the UMCP-2 and the Vfx to control every configuration.
Example
when using 2 decks and 2 samplers
Switching on the left is between Player 1 and Sampler 1
Switching on the right is between Player 2 and Sampler 2
when using 4 decks
Switching on the left is between Player 1 and Player 3
Switching on the right is between Player 2 and Player 4
You can use mixed modes too i.e. 3 decks and 1 sampler on either side and all sampler controls are map. The thing is that it does not follow labels very well when in sampler mode you would have to know what does what. Food for thought on your workflow.
