Activated Soundwave wrote:Okay going back to the start What is causing me and issue is maybe that Cross keep loading up my last played track (gee I hate that) so maybe this is causing all the randomness, no matter how accurate I am at this test I am still getting it doing this alternating states .

But despite this does it matter if I start Cross with a track with cues or track without cues and then drop one in with cues, does it have to be empty decks on start ?

Ps how do remove tracks from decks without a controller

I believe there is an option check within the general setup tab to enable/disable loading the last track upon start.

You could load a track without cue points and then place a couple for test purposes. Then before closing Cross remove all cue points using the GUI so when start again it will load the track but this time without the cue points.

cue mode pads lit

Pressed roll and it turns neutral

pressed roll again and jumped to cue with pads lit.

then pressed roll again and looped at different lengths and pads went off after release .

So the only issue is when first switching to Roll , this is the best and clearest result i can get. once i have done this once i have those issues again with getting any suitable test starting point with starting at cue, so i keep having to switch all off and start again and start from scratch , but this is where each time i restart always a different outcome sometimes on first pressing roll it stays neutral other times it lights up.

Their is one other question if relevant after these last tests i did does this make a difference if track is stop or playing as i see different results then also, although i have done this both ways and still does not have any baring on this cue too Roll switching . ?

I can not really progress anymore with that, more testers please its not as difficult as it sounds if you follow FigDJ instructions, only takes a few minutes.

What is neutral, do you refer to neutral as the LED is off?
If so,what turned off?
The CUE Mode button?
The ROLL button?
The pads?
A combination of those?

Activated Soundwave wrote:pressed roll again and jumped to cue with pads lit.

Cue pads lit is a good response.
Did the Roll button turned off?
Did the CUE mode button turned on?

Activated Soundwave wrote:then pressed roll again and looped at different lengths and pads went off after release .

That is a good indication.
Did the Roll button turned on?

Explanation
At 1st you are in CUE mode and the pads lit up accordingly.

Then you pressed ROLL mode and all the pads turned off.
This is good because it shows that the pas switched to roll mode.

While in ROLL mode you press a pad and it lights up (turned on) for the loop. So the functionality as well as the lights are there.

When you pressed ROLL for a second time, you turned of ROLL mode and CUE mode is back on as the default.
I believe the lights are working correctly for the pads. However, for the mode buttons it is still not there and that is why it may be a bit confusing.

MCX8000Test14.mappings
Things that are done
Navigation and Loading =Controls next to the screens
Mixer Section
Non-Performance pad functions for deck 1,2,3 and 4
Performance pad functions for Deck1
Everything that is already mapped includes the corresponding LED

Things to be done
Resolve LED inter-dependencies for non-pad LEDs within Deck 1.

MAP deck 2 pads
Resolve LED inter-dependencies for non-pad LEDs within Deck 2.
Resolve LED inter-dependencies across deck 1 and 2.
MAP deck 3 pads
Resolve LED inter-dependencies across deck 1,2 and 3.
MAP deck 4 pads
Resolve LED inter-dependencies across all decks.

If there are no testers available to provide the feedback needed to fix any bugs it is impossible to correctly complete the map.

Latest iteration is test 14 file. If interested in testing send me a PM or post here.

Please try 13 1st as I just received a movie clip and it seems to be working properly for the switch between CUE and ROLL. Then try 14 and let me know. 14 is included in my last post.

Test 14

Postby Activated Soundwave on 08 Dec 2016, 22:37

mapping 14

Cue mode switched too - Roll mode (roll mode not lit) but roll looping working and pads are off, until looping action is preformed and then releasing okay
Press roll mode button a second time and it reverts back to Cue mode and hotcue locators working again,

So switching Cue mode - Roll mode okay :D
we are just missing a colour for roll mode button when switched over to the Roll mode.

That is great news, the MODE buttons are a little tricky but we are getting there. The pad functions are working. Using file 14 check this out.

When you go into ROLL mode. Instead of pressing a pad
press Shift + a PAD and release.
This should create a steady loop. Press shift and another pad and the loop length changes while the loop stays on.
Press Shift + whichever is the active pad and the loop is off.

Load a sample bank on sampler 1.

go to SAMPLER mode

pad should light up yellow for those that are loaded. if you press a pad that sample will play and the pad turns red while playing.

If you press shift +pad you can cycle the pad modes from one-shot, by press or loop sample.

Done for today. Tomorrow I will post a new file to try to fix the MODE indicators. Depending on results that I receive with the exception of the Pad mode buttons deck 1 is done.

If results are positive then mapping deck 2 pads is easy plus a little bit of work for LED interactions.
