I just spoke with DENON DJ Technical Support and the controller it is supposed to do hardware layer switching with button 1,2,3, and 4 as well as the Shift buttons.

If you have this controller is it working with Serato DJ. it comes with a license. The DENON DJ tech told that there is no special setup for the controller to work as a regular MIDI controller and hardware switching should be working regardless of what DJ software is being used.

MCX8000Test1.mappings
OK lets do this. I am not going to ask to MIDI map learn. Lets you do a simple test with this file.

Forget about LEDs or any other functions

make sure the controller is connected.
import the map file.
go to the MIDI section and make sure it is pointing to the file.
Use the GUI to
place Cross in 4 deck mode
make sure is on 4 deck not 2 deck 2 samplers
load a track on Player 1
load a track on Player 3

On the controller
Left side press the 1 button
Press Play. Does Player 1 it plays?
Press Play again. Does Player 1 pauses?

Left side press the 3 button
Press Play. Does Player 3 it plays?
Press Play again. Does Player 3 pauses?

This is a short test for hardware layer switching.

My apologies I posted the wrong file.

Thanks for your quick response.

Please do the previous test again.
If it works then do the test below.

Using the GUI
Load a track that has a CUE point and at least one locator set to Player A

Now here is the test
Press Shift +Play (Press and release Play repeatedly)
Does it studders?

As you doing this Press Play and release shift?
Does it continue playing?
