Could someone tell if the Hi, MID, LOW knobs are also pushbuttons. They appear to be so but just want to make sure to implement additional commands.

The HI, MID and Low knobs aren't pushbuttons, they can only twist ;)

haga46 Thanks for the info. the reason I asked is because in the documentation for those knobs there is a MIDI note output along with the MIDI CC variable output so I am wondering if the knobs are capacitive which would make them touch sensitive.

If you map something to the knobs, when you use them do they respond? That would be just to the touch not moving the knob.

Same question goes for the filter knobs which I forgot to ask about in my previous post.

One more question, the documentation list the fx section as either global, channel1 or channel2. this is fine for fx but it is not for loop commands. I was looking into the last map that you posted and the loop command mapped to channel one.

Load a track on Player A (deck 1)
Load a track on Player C (deck 3)
Switch to deck 3 by pressing the button at the bottom of the deck.

try to use the loop commands.
If it responds for deck1 that is bad news and I will have to use shift logic to make that work for deck 3 and 4. If it does not respond for deck 1 that is better.
Then the question is can a loop command for deck 3 can be mapped to the loop rotary encoder at the top. (use MIDI learn to try)

Once again thanks for your feedback and sorry about all the questions. I am trying to map this just from documentation and feedback from here. Not having the controller in hand makes mapping more difficult.

FigDJ wrote:OK I am past the FX section and the loop section except for small detail that I'll decide when mapping the LEDs.

I have no documentation for the JOG button or Shift + JOG button so if someone could map those using MIDI learn that will allow me to continue on to the JOG Wheels. I think this is mislabeled as VINYL switch on the documentation.

Also someone please map the pitch control, I got some documentation on that one but don't know if there a shift related command that could be mapped to that. In other word map a slider command to the pitch control and then map a different slider command using the shift in conjunction with it and see if it works. Let me know the results and what you did to map it by posting here or PM.

TM8(Reloop)2.mappings

Shift + JOG --> turns slip mode on/off (maped slip mode)
Shift + JOG --> fast search true the track (maped to needle search)
Shift + small button 1 left upper corner --> selects pitch range
Pitch fader --> maped it to pitch value
When using shift + pitchfader in conjunction there's no difference behavior in using only the pitchfader without the shift !

The mid, low, high and filter knobs aren't tough sensitive, tried them in MIDI learning and didn't get any response in Cross MIDI !

--> quickly maped some loop commands and it only responds to the deck assigned

Then the question is can a loop command for deck 3 can be mapped to the loop rotary encoder at the top. (use MIDI learn to try) --> i used the MIDI learning function and mapped the loop ratary encoder to deck 3 it responds in MIDI but not irl, maped it to loop halve on deck 3

No problem for the questions FigDJ and i really appreciate all your help, just wished someone else with more experience would chime in, cuz i'm still a beginner and don't understand all the DJ vocabulairy, so i hope you understand my actions

Thanks for your effort. I have no clue how to a mapping. Let me know if there is anything I can do and how I can get the mapping to download and test.

Hey peeps,

For now there aren't any mappings available, the mappings i'm posting are just MIDI learn functions that FigDJ needs.
When FigDJ post a map that will be a testing map, and that's when you can test and post your on findings ;)

But if you've got the vocabulary knowledge and would give us a helping hand that would be great, i don't have the knowledge but i do what i can

EDIT- The following files have been removed until further notice in order to avoid conflict of interest with Mixvibes

MIDI Conversion Table_TM8.xlsx
Terminal Mix 8 TV1.zip

Here it is Terminal Mix 8 Test Version 1-TV1

This is the disclaimer.
I don't have the controller so I could not test. Plenty of guess work went into making the map.

Start testing and let me know

Before actual testing, set the following conditions.

All using the GUI
Load a track in A
Load a track in B
Load a sample bank or a track in C
Load a sample bank or a track in D

Proceed to test all MIxer section functions Excep Load.

If all pass then test the load and library navigation.

Test all Deck functions
Test all effect functions

Note: Shift+ TAP sets up the condition required to use the rotary encoder and tap button for looping with deck 3 and 4. (It is critical for me to know if this is working.) If it is not stop testing and give me some feedback on the behavior so I can fix it.
I included several files of documentation in xls, doc, and pdf format. Please read carefully as you test.
In the modified pdf file the light green means partially mapped, the dark green is fully mapped for buttons and sliders. For LEDs blue means mapped.
Partially mapped means that not all the available MIDI notes or cc values were mapped. With some feedback help additional Cross functions could be mapped.

First of all, thx FigDJ for all the work you've done !

Could someone do the testing, bcuz i probably won't be able to test it in the first 2 wks and maybe longer :(

So if someone else would do the testing that would be awesome and with the new info, FigDJ could take it from there
