Behringer CMD 4A on Windows 10

Postby DJDogbone on 28 Sep 2016, 03:49

I've been using a MixVibes Control Pro2 but I wanted something larger so I picked up a Behringer CMD 4A. It keep randomly pausing briefly as if the entire system is buffering.

I'm running MV Cross DJ 3.3.11 64 bit on a Lenovo 64 i5 bit Laptop with Windows 10.

Can anyone tell me what's the deal there? I installed their CMD4A 1.7 driver and it made no difference if I use ASIO4ALL or the CMD Driver.

My MixVibes hardware is not having any issues.

thoughts?

Maybe:
energy settings (monitor, hdd, usb ports).
Anti virus
web polling (email/..)
syncing process

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

This appears to be a 64 bit Windows 10 with MixVibes and the CMD4A. The unit, made in April 2016, has no issues on Windows 7 Pro. It's ROCK SOLID.

Same Unit on Windows 10 with MixVibes experiences momentary pauses during playback. Turning off the WiFi reduces these issues but they still occur.

I can also say that this unit was originally a windows 8.1 when MixVibes was installed.

I'm going to reinstall MV again and see if this helps. Behringer is running tests on my setup at their tech center in Las Vegas.
They have also asked me to try another DJ application to see if I have the same issues. I'll be downloading Virtual DJ to see if I have the same issue.
outside a complete wipe, it's hard to know where the issue is. I've deleted most of the Lenovo bloat-ware including their own power mgmt system in favor of the Windows Power Mgmt. No difference.

I can also note that I do see momentary pauses in the wave from when I use my Control Pro 2 but it does not affect audio. Ran a set off the internal drive (in case I had a sick hard drive as all music is on an external) but no difference.

I can also say that the driver for the CMD4A is only up to Windows 8 compliant so that's why I'm leaning towards a WIndows 10 compatibility issue.

It has to be a Windows 10 64 Bit audio driver for the CMD Studio 4A. I ran the controller with audio outputted through the speakers of the computer with the MIDI control via the CMD Studio 4A. NO ISSUES (can't mix because the headphone jack doesn't work on the controller) but I have isolated the problem.

It is a Behringer problem... the audio driver has issues or the built in audio card has issues with the OS. One of the two.

You could try using asio4all as soundcard driver. Won't fix the problem, but maybe due to different way it communicates to the soundcard driver it may be a workaround.
