Are you using Asio driver?

Please add some setup/OS info.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Are you using the Asio drivers (listen in Preferences > Audio).

You likely need Asio4all as asio driver if you haven't installed that yet.
If you use WDM drivers this really is the first thing to do.

The loading of a track is the moment Cross needs most CPU power. So try to have as much available as possible. Don't run other tasks.

Try to have tracks analyzed before loading to the deck.
Exclude audio and Cross folders in your Anti virus (try temporary running without VA to see if this helps.)

Avoid energy savings settings to hdd and usb ports.

Echoing is pretty unlikely caused by a sound driver. It more likely is the FX or you have a microphone on that catches the live audio.

In asio4all you normally only have to select the soundcard/channels you're using. Do not select others as each channel takes cpu performance.

Next you only tweak the latency slider to the lowest value without any dropouts. Something like 5ms is normal for DJing.

Please also check that Windows does not use the mixtrack as soundcard.
