!!URGENT!! Cross allways freezes after 2 hours playing

Postby Kriztov on 04 Jan 2016, 13:14

I hope somebody can help me please...
New Years Eve I had 3 Software freezes in one night, allways after about 2 hours of playing...
I checked at home also, it plays perfectly for 2 - 2,5 hours. Then suddenly the music becomes a "bzzzzzzzz" through the speakers and the waveforms have stopped moving.

In 5 years, never had any problems with the software. This was with my old laptop and Windows 7.

Few months ago, laptop got stolen and had to buy new one, this is with Windows 10 64bit.
Installed Cross 2.6 and played perfectly for 6 gigs, whole nights without problems...
I don't understand why this suddenly is happening...
Tried installing Cross 3.3.11, but didn't solve the problem...

Can I find a log or something why the software freezes after 2 hours of play???
Next gig is on Friday :-( :-(

Look in windows Energy Preferences

USB Power must always always be on

High performance may not be sufficient. You'd better make a custom setting and checking the options. This makes it also easier to switch back to a normal energy setting that stresses your laptop less in other situations.

Disks should not slow down, monitor, CPU, etc...

Also check in the hardware settings (not energy menu) that the USB hosts have 'sleep' settings disabled.

Not sure if it still exists, but I remember having used some power setting that made my laptop on specific energy settings while Cross was enabled. (might have been before my w8 laptop)

BTW smart thinking of Jaymarkus...

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
