Thanks for the reply, it's much appreciated.

I wish I'd known this piece of hardware was technically defunct before shelling out money on it.

I purchased it from a reputable DJ shop here in the UK as a Grade A manufacturer's refurbished unit. Looking over their small print, I can't even return the damn thing as I've broken the software seal that came with it, even though I already had a version of Cross DJ from the Mac App store.

Do the developers read these posts or is there a way of raising this as a support issue directly with them?

Thanks again for the help. :)

Hang on, what am I missing here? I have a UMCP2 and a Mac and everything is fine for me.

I am using Cross though, not Cross DJ.

 Cross and Cross DJ are the same basic software ,,,,do not own a mac so cant realy say why your set up is not working ,, rhopkings was a win user and had sligh set of issues,, kinda worked that out ,, went to mac and havent heard of any issues posted ,,not shure why your system is not reconizing the sc ,,

My experience of switching from Windows to OSX has been...well, it's easily justified the expense. I plugged in the UMCP2 that first time and since then no issues (other than a slight mix up between 32 and 64 bit, but all fine now).

So I'm really confused as to why this thread exists at all. My Mac is a late 2014 model. Could it really be that different?

Re: external usb microphone not working with FaceTime and mac mini with os x Yosemite in response to BruSte

Found this article and it worked for me. Logitech webcam microphone is now working.

Go to Terminal and type: "sudo killall coreaudiod" (of course, without the quotes)

Here's the article: http://betanews.com/2014/08/26/how-to-f ... -yosemite- beta/

Happy calling!

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

I've managed to return the unit to the shop and have gone for an Akai AMX in exchange which works flawlessly so didn't need to try that Terminal command.

I'd be interested to see if that works though.

Cheers :)
