Envivo ENV-1274 - MIDI controller not working & can't update

Hi there,

Completely new to all this, I bought the ENV-1274 USB DJ Controller the other day, software came with it.

Two problems I'm having with it is that the software doesn't seem to be recognizing the MIDI controller at all? If I plug the MIDI controller in I get a flash of light across the keys and then nothing, I've licensed the software and inserted the serial number into my user control panel.

Also tried multiple USB ports, no joys.

Which leads me to another problem, the software won't let me update, every-time I try to update it leads me to a page saying I don't have permission to do this and to insert my serial number into the user control panel, which I have done.

Any ideas anyone? Presumed this would really just be a plug and play thing but apparently not, thanks.

Hi. Welcome to mixvibes.
Please also check with the manufacturer for drivers and or firmware.

The controller should be plugged in and recognised by the OS as well as being installed. Most controllers are class compliant. This means the drivers comes from the controller. You normally should not change usb port as this triggers a new install all over.

When the controller is installed you could try a reboot. Sometimes this helps on first use of a port.

I've sent the e-mail as requested.

I've tried different USB ports, tried re-starting with the original USB port I used and the other ports I've tried. No Joy, I get a flash of lights on the controller for a second then it just goes off.

Any other tips?

Connect controller and wait till it is installed and recognised.

Doesn't matter what the lights do at this stage.

Start Cross LE.

Goto Preferences and check if controller is selected in MIDI tab (in LE the layout depends on the controller, so don't know exactly for your one.)

If you press a control at the controller the 'tab' should flash green. If this happens the controller sends a MIDI command..

What OS do you use. Have you checked the manufacturer website for updates of firmware/drivers?

Can someone please talk me through how to get this controller to work with vdj, I have some mapping for end env 1274 from this forum but i am unsure how to input it to make vdj work.

I have read that i copy them into the vdj folder contained within my documents, is this correct and how exactly do i do this where do i copy them to exactly.

Sorry i'm a novice and any step by step guide as to how i do this would be appreciated.

The MIDI mappings for Cross will not work in any other program (nor vice versa).

So for vdj you best check the vdj forum for available mappings.
