Connecting CDJs issue....

Postby Paul Savateev on 23 Jul 2015, 17:48

Hi
I'm new to Cross DJ... till now i was using only CDJs Pioneer and last night i wanted to see what Cross DJ is capable of by connecting to the CDJs 2000 as a controller, but here is the deal....
1st - x64 do not recognise the Pioneer asio
2nd -x32 controlled only "A" player and do not let me choose player to control.
3rd - Doesn't communicate with the software (Cross DJ) at all as is shows in the ad video from Youtube - set up less than 30 seconds ?Doesn't shows on the player the collection / play lists - nothing , cuz is not connecting even with the latest firmware update on the CDJs

If there is some fix for that let me know.

 more info needed ,, how are you trying to connect the Pioneer unit ,, also what version of the software are you running ,, Cross DJ is only MIDI controllable ,,if you want hid control and usage ,,Cross will be the version ,,
also regerster the software licence key in the fourm ,,,/user control panel/profile/serial# ,, this will allow you acess to latest version and upgrade pricing if you choose to go with Cross
and welcome to the fourm

Well...
the software version is 3.3.10 and i already registered in the forum and so far i have the latest version.
i hook up 2 usb from the laptop direct to the CDJs...
i open the x64 Cross DJ and to use Pioneer CDJ Asio i needed to switch to x84 (32) but then... then only one of the CDJs controlled the both players.
from the CDJ i didn't have the option to choose what player to control just stayed "Connecting"

As far as I know Pioneer doesn't provide 64-bit drivers yet so you're forced to use 32-bit Cross DJ also. But seems you already figured it out. :) Do both CDJs work normally when you just connect one?

Mappings get saved though so you should find the mapping whenever you re-launch the app. If you upgrade to Cross it will have HID function with certain CDJs but that is something I've no experience of.

HID option works very nicely. If you do a lot of playing with CDJs, I'd recommend getting the upgrade to Cross if you haven't already.

On the MIDI end, one of things that often gets overlooked is setting the CDJs to separate MIDI channels. If they are both on default (channel 1) you will have problems detecting them properly and/or both will control the same deck.
Probably something you already checked, but just for future reference for other readers.

I often use Cross whit cdj's. And the solution is simple go to the Pioneer website and download cdj asio driver.
Use Cross 32 bit and select Cdj asio in the soundcard settings. Make sure both players are connected trought usb to your laptop every player you use has to be connected trough usb to your laptop. Make sure that the MIDI settings on the cdj are correct 1 should be set as MIDI 1 the other player should be on MIDI 2. Then press the link button press something on the cdj and set 1 player as a and the other as b.
