From what I know, the fixed version of Cross will be out in a matter of days, a week at most.

What we can do is just dream that will have an update to resolve this

And hope that Apple won't deliver a fix for the root cause which will mess up the work around by the dev team.

This is a difficult issue to test a work around as well, as it occurs occasionally after 21000 or 28000 seconds. So after having a machine run for 5-8 hours you only know it didn't occur, but doesn't prove the work around is doing the right thing...

A first build of Cross 3.3.11 RC1 is available in the Download Center:

No PM sent for now: Stelios (sfronti) reacted very quickly (almost suspiciously quickly ) and noticed the new MIDI mappings were missing. A RC2, updated with the new mappings, will be up ASAP.

Beside those mappings, let me know if you find anything else missing/wrong/broken in this version.

One question: is it safe to install this version on a Mac OS X 10.8.5 System? Or is this beta only for later versions OS X?

Hi,

Normally every Cross version is compatible with OSX versions starting with 10.6. That being said, we don't have enough spare machines to test all the different OS versions.
10.8 isn't as far off, so you should be clear to go.

As a first test, you can launch Cross directly from the opened dmg, with no installation required. BUT I do recommend making a backup copy of your current collection.

Let us know how that turns out.
