
well before the digtal age ,,back when you had reel to reels/8 tracks ,cassests ,, recording levels where set and adjusted by vu meters ,, /manualy and monitored ,, so thinking the process is set up similiar ,,
think that the master out shouldnt affect the rec levels that the deck gains/line faders should affect the levels ,, and the master out should be used to raise/lower your siginal for system amplification ,, ,so in essence the center vu meters is what i would use to set my rec levels ,, not the master gain levels,, but i could be wrong ,, never tried recording with the master down to see if this affects the rec level ,, be a shame if it did
