Teething Problems/Download Support - Cross LE

Postby tbrine on 30 Mar 2015, 12:37

Hi There,

I am new here! Just purchased an Allen & Heath Xone:23C and am currently experiencing a couple of teething problems.

First off - the software announces that an update is available, sends me here (hyperlink), then proceeds to notify me that I do not have the access to the download. I have tried entering my full product key at my User Control Panel (as instructed) but to no avail as yet (this was done over a week ago).

The only other issue I am having is latency and general audio settings issues - USB/ASIO. I cannot seem to get a consistent performance combination between the software buffer rate and the internal card settings. Sometimes I have perfect scratching/responsiveness, then I will have a real laggy sensation. So I fiddle with the settings (dropping/increasing internal card performance settings whilst dropping/increasing the software buffer rate) to try and get a smooth feel again and often do, just to hit the same lag problem again shortly after. (Yes I am always ensuring that the settings produce a latency under 10ms, ususally around 2ms infact).

My laptop isn't exactly the fastest, being 2-3 years old now. But I build my own PCs so know that its a clean runner as it was top spec at the time of purchase and I re-formatted it for the sole purpose of running DVS. So I would be surprised if this was the issue.

Nevertheless, I am extremely focused on getting things to run smoothly and would appreciate any support!

Kind regards,

Brine

Hi, welcome to mixvibes.

Please send a PM to Etienne_badaroux to have your credentials modified. Unfortunately this doesn't always go automatically.

Latency is merely determined by the driver and soundcard capabilities (in addition to your hardware). Cross itself runs with <1ms; at my 6 year old machine I run it with a 1ms latency soundcard while doing lot's of other stuff.

The buffer size should be set to the lowest point without having audio dropouts.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
