i can load tracks, mixvibes is picking up the vinyl like i can use the vinyl to control the track but there is just no sound, i have the deck connected to the soundcard input 1, output 1 to channel 1 in mixer and output from mixer to speakers. yet there is just no sound, and tbh im not sure if it is even Ultimate, on the program it just says Mixvibes DVS

OK, this confirms the output part is OK. Still guess it is this switch option. Just don't know where it is in the MixVibes DVS. selectlinein.png (note: video not in MixVibes DVS). Please also be aware that development of this program ended like 5 years ago. So upgrading to Cross DVS is something to consider. The Cross Demo version can be used for like 15 days to try (almost) all features.

sorry for late reply guys, still having trouble, new needles just arrived so was testing them.
it is Ultimate that i have and i believe the problem is with the soundcard/software, and i dont want any fancy video DJ'ing stuff, just want to be able to use my technics with my lappy.
the way i have it set up is as follows:
left deck=input one on U-Mix right deck=input two on U-Mix U-Mix output one=mixer left channel U-Mix output two=mixer right channel mixer master out=speakers U-Mix usb to lappy
when i use decks for standard vinyl no problem, just when i try to use the U-Mix and lappy there is nothing even going into the mixer, i know the mixer isnt the problem as i said before works fine with normal vinyl, and i couldnt find the input thing you mentioned earlier either

Did you have installed the Asio driver for the U-Mix?
Is there An Control Panel right side of your PC Clock ?
Did you have Use the Install Assistent for Ultimate
Note: The Turntable have to Play for that with Timecode Vinyl

Clarify something for me please. When you say "when I use decks for vinyl no problem", do you mean while they are attached to the U-Mix still or when they are hooked up directly to the mixer?
If you hear the sound from regular vinyl over your mixer with the decks hooked up to U-Mix, it means the system is in "thru" mode. However, if that is the case, if you swap the regular vinyl for a timecode (TC) vinyl, you should hear the actual timecode sound from the mixer and not nothing.
Anyway. This is how it should be set-up. Since I use the full Cross 3.3.10 some things might be slightly different, but they should be there.
Step one: * Connect TTs to inputs 1 and 2. As you already have it hooked up * Connect outputs 1 and 2 to mixer. As you already have it hooked up. * First setup the outgoing sound. Go to preferences, tab audio. Under Output 1 and 2 pick the right ASIO! U-Mix channels. * Under routing mode set External Mixer Cue (as you only have 2 stereo outputs on the U-Mix). * Close preferences * Just to be safe, check if the master output on the software is set to at least 9 or 12 o'clock position. * Now load a track on both decks and hit play. You should see signal come in on your mixer for each track that is playing. If this works the outgoing signal path is set up correctly. * Open Preferences|Audio Tab * Next set incoming signal. Under input 1 and 2 pick the right channels (should only be two options). Next click on the new dropdown box that appears which default shows line. You can now select phono. * You are now done with setting the inputs and outputs correctly. * Next go to vinyl/CD tab. * Make sure the boxes for control deck 1 and 2 are checked. * Check if the inputs are correct. * Check if control Media is set to MV Vinyl * Check if the RPM you want to use is set correctly * Play a TC vinyl and hit calibrate * Repeat calibration for other deck * Close preferences * Load a track in deck A * If covers are shown, next to the cover (left side) is a little hide/show covers arrow, next to that should be little record icon with a 1 and one with a 2 next to it ("use control deck"). You can only see those when you mouse over the area! Now click the one with number 1. It will turn yellow and at the bottom you now have three buttons to the left of the sync button, absolute, relative and flexible mode. Which one you use is up to your preference. Standard it is set to relative mode. * Use your TC vinyl to control the track. Sound should be coming into your mixers channel 1. * Repeat for the other side * The A and B button above the EQ knobs in the mixer section of the software probably say "player", by clicking those you toggle between "player" and "line". If you set it to line, you can play the sound from your regular vinyls.
Hope this helps. If you follow these steps it should all work.
