Just checked the manual
http://www.mixvibes.com/sites/default/f ... manual.pdf

can't find a remark why it should be available in Mac. However disabled by user is still possible.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

I had looked at the manual prior to posting here, the answer is not there as far as I am seeing. This is very simple to figure out, basically what I need is for anyone who has a mac to confirm whether that FILES option is there or not and which version of Cross DJ he/she is using.

I agree; just checked due to no response yet of Mac users.

For sure not a version dependent issue.

As I haven't seen a reply of you yet my guess still is the Files node has been disabled by the user in this collection.

I have asked him to bring it here during the week to check and sign him up here and report in more detail, until then if anyone can tell me exactly where and how the file node can be disabled then I can check to see if it is?

Hi Mike,

Rather simple, "right-click" on one of the entries that ARE there (like iTunes or Prepare), you'll see a pop-up where you can check the "files" option and presto! There it is.

You can do an actual right-click with an external non-mac mouse, use the two-finger tap option if you have that set (which is what I use) or CTRL-click with the touchpad.

Hope that helps.

I don't use live DJ softwares anymore, only automated softwares now which is why I never looked into this software but just for info sake, can you tell me the main difference between this software and others like say Traktor?

 same same but not the same ,, pricing doesnt compare ,, better implemation of certain features ,, lacking in some issues ,, best i can say is download the free version to see what it has ,,doese have limitation installed because its a free version ,, check out the product page for version comparison and features,, mixvibes designed the Pioneer rekord box software and has a better file mangement set up  (cant tell by your issues ) . first to impliment hid control ,,

i just use the software to create/play/rec my mixes ,, you never loose the passion for making the music,,
others users can add to the pluses and minuses as they see fit ,,

One of the major differences I'd say is in the fact that Traktor is geared more towards the electronic music and live remixing. Their beatgridding works fine with tight electronic beats, but is totally lost in the woods when it's any other kind of music (like "hand-drummed" 80s disco). Also their remix decks are more than just sample decks, but are a feature that isn't for every kind of DJ. Finally Native Instruments (once supporting a rather large continent of controllers) is moving rapidly in the direction of a software/hardware marriage, i.e. the only hardware to work properly with Traktor will be their own hardware.

Cross on the other hand has great flexible beatgridding. Their sample decks are more than I need so plenty there. Controller support is good out of the box and this forum has some awesome guys that are able and willing to help make mappings for more exotic gear. And many minor features that make live easier for a DJ (well, my kind of DJ at any rate). If you like to integrate vinyl, you can. The full version supports DVS with ANY suitable sound card (both Traktor and Serato need supported sound cards). Finally the HID support for Pioneer CDJ gear is pretty good and more or less plug and play. Roll up to a venue, plug in your USB leads into the CDJ2000s and off you go.

Is it flawless? Nope. Is there room for improvement? Always. Is it worth the modest amount of money they charge? Definitely.
