PDC-08W problem

Postby bruezgr on 29 Nov 2014, 02:59

I bought the MIDI controller PDC-08W which has Cross DJ LE included. I use WIndows 8.1 and when i plug in the controller my computer can recognize it. It seems that everything works fine. But when i open Cross DJ the controller doesnt respord. I want to find a solution and continue using mixvibes and not to change software. Please help me!

Hi, welcome to MixVibes.

If you register your license key in your user profile you can download the latest version of the software from the download section.

Please check the manufacturer of the controller if you have the latest driver (if a drive is needed).
If you're using version 3.3.x please check what happens if you use the 32-bit version.

Have you used a Cross product before?

Please let us know the results. Pretty unlike it isn't going to work.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Last update on Cross LE is 2.6
There is no 64 bits version
MIDI drivers aren't needed from external source but are directly loaded by Windows.
Check in your Cross DJ MIDI options if you have the good mappings loaded.

Did you try another usb port.
Also be sure to start Cross after the system has recognized and activated the device. Only at startup of Cross it ask the OS for available devices (MIDI and soundcards).

I dont have an external soundcard. But the MIDI controller installed on the nvidia high definition audio and not on the realtek high definition audio. Maybe is that the problem?

Sorry for the delay.
Though it might be a PD problem; I did some checking and only found specs upto W7. So you might need an update of the firmware. However I can't tell how as Google didn't help me in a right direction.

What we can do, just to make sure it isn't Cross related.
- If I understand right Cross works OK when you plug in the controller. Big problem is that you can only control by mouse and keyboard.

- If in Preferences you have the MIDI tab visible make sure it is the right controller.
If you use a button, do you see the tab flash green?

- sound and MIDI are seperate things. You can use soundcards independent of MIDI devices.
