U-Mix Control Pro 2 - Intermittent Problem

Postby mosstyn on 26 Jan 2015, 12:59

Hi Mixvibes,

I recently purchased the U-Mix Control Pro 2 - It really is great. So good that I could end up single at this rate!!

I have a problem with deck 2. The play button seems to intermittently act as a cue button. Originally I thought it maybe completing some kind of double click/double action i.e. play/pause in one push, but I have since been compensating for the issue by holding it down for a couple of seconds but then it stops when I release it.

The controller came with Cross 2 and I recently upgraded to 3.3.9 but the problem persists.

Is this a hardware issue or can I fix it?

Thanks for the reply Daniel

o/s - Windows XP. This is my first USB MIDI Controller. As to the mapping, I took a look but it all looked dangerously complicated so didn't touch it. It is using "U-Mix Control Pro 2 2.40" mapping. Basically it should be as it was out of the box. Did just try "U-Mix Control 2 2.5" but same issue. Since posting I have ruled out the button intermittently acting as "cue" as it also does the opposite i.e. track playing > hit play/pause > it pauses for split second and continues to play.

If it is hardware then return is an option as it is only 2 months old but guess I was hoping to find a known issue that could be fixed without the pain of returning it!

What do ya reckon?

Thanks for your help - I tried the re-map route in the end - it was far less complicated and dangerous than I thought it might be! Swapped the Play & Cue button commands, which I can live with short term. Play now works fine but cue sometimes has a double action. Reckon this proves the actual button is at fault. Only problem now is that re-mapping does not seem to have an effect on the illumination of the buttons (eg hit the button marked "cue" to play but the "play" button illuminates) - which could be interesting considering I am doing a gig at the weekend - it will be dark - it always is!

Thanks FigDJ. How do I upload the mapping? Have browsed forum and have seen people mention an upload button - can't see it though! If it is obvious the please excuse my ignorance, this is my first forum - and I am new to it!

When you reply you should have a tab called 'upload attachment' right under the Save button.

Id you upload and after that 'place inline' (button at the tab)

Thanks RoJec but deffo no "upload" under save. I take it the "save" you are talking about is the next to "Preview" & "Submit"? There is a tab called "options" detailed as cutnpasted below. If there is meant to be another tab next to "options" it aint there.

Step for uploading a file

1. Press reply
2. Fill in some text to describe what you are submitting or talking about.
3. Press the "Uload attachement" tab
4. You will see a small window for the filename or press browse.
If you type the name you must provide the full path. it is easier to press browse.
5. When you press browse a small window will come that will allow you to navigate to the location of your file.
6. Select the file.
7. Press open.
8. Now the navigation "explorer window" disappear and the name of your file is filled in.
9. Press submit.
10. The system will take you back to the forum and show you your entry. press the little Icon at the top of your entry to edit it.
11. The same window comes up. press place inline.
12. Press submit.
The system will again take you back to your entry but this time your filename is embede in the entry and available for someone else to download.
