Minimum PC requirements for Video?

Good morning!

I am in the market for a new laptop. Have the minimum requirements changed? This is what you have currently on your Cross Page...

•Windows 7 or Windows 8
•Mac OS X 10.6 / 10.7 / 10.8 or 10.9
•Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.1 GHz or equivalent
•2 GB RAM
•Screen resolution 1280 x 720 pixels or higher

I am going to use this for music and VIDEO!...

These specs are bare minimum. Processor speed is pretty relevant. If you have the money I wouldn't go below your current PC specs. Make sure you can expand mem to like 32.

Ok, let's try this again...I am new to Cross....looking on the Cross Page....gonna get this program and use video....are the specs on that page good enough or do they need to be updated!

Sorry little confusing as your profile is 12 years old and your signature describes a good laptop.
If you install your Cross at that laptop and stress it by using hd videos in decks and samplers as well as using FX you have a good picture of what can be done vs what you want to be able to do.

Actually this question is for a friend that wants to get Cross, wants to do DJ and video....and wants to buy a new PC laptop...forget what I have....what is the minimum spec for a laptop does he need....?

That clearifies..
>= i5
High CPU frequency
>= 8Gb mem, expandable to >=32
dedicated video >=1gb
screen higher then 1280*720.

Money left? invest in CPU as this can't be upgraded.

This is what I would use as minimum when investing today. This likely offers a laptop that will keep up for some years. Mostly depending on how fast video resolution will increase to real Full HD, 4 and 8K.
