collection discrepancy

Postby scottevans on 14 Nov 2014, 15:22

Hello, im not sure if this is the correct way to write a message but i thought that i would give it a try. Basically i'm new to Cross so i'm gradually learning, i have been using DVS since serato fist was released and I also used final scratch and traktor up to now so i'm pretty familiar with the DVS world. My problem is in my collection file, every time i start Cross almost all of my collection is missing. I know that its probably because I moved all of my music to an external drive but i just don't know how to explain that to the software. If you can help I would really appreciate it..

Thanks again
Scott

2 basic options
1 set fixed drive letter for a usb device. Can be done in disk management.

2 use 'subst' function.

I use 2nd as it allows every device\folder to a virtual disk. My collection for audio is ķ:
Command 'subst k ď:\music' sets it if music is the root on physical drive đ.
Can be put in a batch file.

For Small collection you can use resolve missing tracks function. Batch select. Point one and Cross will ask to do others

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Thanks for the quick response, i would like to know how you use the 'subst' function as I really don't know. I could probably use the last option but my collection is in terabytes so it would take me a really long time.
