ASIO4ALL.PNG DJ - Cross mix settings.PNG DJ Soundsettings.PNG Hi all, Know this question comes up a fair bit - I've tried to read posts and apply replies but still am not able to listen to a queuing track through headphones on mixvibes. I have a gemini first mix usb controller for a PC - my mixvibes serial should be registered under my details. I was actually able to get the headphones queuing on virtual DJ, but not mixvibes, so I know it is possible! I've also tried ASIO4ALL and have attached screenshots of my settings below. these might not even be close but are just what I last tried. Absolute novice here so as little jargon as poss please! appreciate any help you can give me. cheers

Hey thanks for the reply. Sorry to ask you to spell this out! On my PC sound settings, there are 2 options for my soundcard (IDT High Definition Audio Codec) - either 'Speakers and Headphones' and 'Communications headphones' - so which one shall I put as default?
In terms of the Cross sound set up - I previously tried what seemed like every combination whilst set to 'dual audio', so if I move back to this where should I go from there?
Additionally, if I have ASIO now downloaded should I have this set under sound preferences on mixvibes? On the drop down menu there are other options - again I tried a combination of these before downloading ASIO.

Hi Rojec, thanks very much for your input and clarity.
So firstly I think you've managed to clear up one thing for me - I've been working under the assumption that since my usb decks have an sc in, I needed to use that for the headphones and route the master through my laptop speakers.
I just gave this another go and I will try to explain what happened. I played track a and track b simultaneously with the Cross fader in the middle, obviously hearing both out the master. I then hit the headphones button on track b and moved the slider towards track A. What I assumed I'd hear was track A out of the master with track b, or a mix of track a and b, in the headphones? This is what i'm after so any advice would be great. What i actually heard was still a mix of track a and be in both master and headphones...
Hopefully this is just me being an amateur and not a hardware issue as I first thought.
However since doing this I have since unable been able to play AND track through master OR headphones! The crossdj programme says the track is playing but no sound is coming out either channel, despite making alterations to the Cross fader/ volume controls etc! Is this a bug issue?

Cross DJ volume settings.PNG Ok thanks guys I think we're getting somewhere now! So I'm fairly sure this isnt a hardware problem and that I just need a better understanding of how to use the cue/mix/master volume settings. So I've attached a shot of the volume settings. Have reduced cue volume to zero as instructed (this should mean that none of the cue track volume goes to master right?), I've kept master on so that there is volume coming out of the master, obvs, what should I be doing with the mix volume? Also something to highlight, my gemini set hardly works with Cross DJ; the controls only affect what is on the screen and happening to the tracks around 1/4 of the times I start the software. In fact, when the controls are working and corresponding to the stuff on screen, im not able to get nay sound out of either output. is this a common thing?

who instructed you to turn cue down to zero ,, ,,turn the middle knob fully clockwise ,, turn cue to halfway point ,press play on track b and shift Cross fader to track a also pressing play knods labeled cue =cue volume mix=monitor/pre fade listining fully conter clockwise ,,, master fully clock wise , this knob is like a fader to be able to listen to the master out and you pfl at same time on your headphones master = master volume out , no try this in dual stero selected in audio panel all of this info is in the manual http://www.mixvibes.com/sites/default/f ... manual.pdf what controller are you using and what MIDI mapping is selected ,, also use the gui to control thease settings to eliminate the controller from giving wrong actions

No cue volume Cross DJ.PNG The saga continues... Thanks for your help on getting me this far. I was able to start mixing, but a number of things forced a hiatus - My Windows imploded and I had to restore my compute. Having reinstalled Cross, I was pretty devastated to find that the cue and mix volume controls, which you pointed out that I needed in the answers above, have now ENTIRELY DISAPPEARED. See screenshot i've attached. Any idea on this? I am running Cross 2.6, - have tried to update to 3.3 but it wont let me (despite me entering my serial number!!) Any ideas? Sorry if I am yet again missing something incredibly obvious
