N4 Mapping Woes

Postby deanobirko on 28 Jul 2014, 14:57

Im trying to map the Switch deck buttons on my N4 so that i can switch between 1-3 and 2-4. When i press 1-3 it works as expected but when I press 2-4 it changes 1-3 with it.

I read somewhere that it was a hard ware setting but thats rubbish because it works as it should on VirtualDJ and Serato.

Is this something I could map myself or is it possible for someone to help me with?

What command did you used to do a deck switch?
Can't find any information about MIDI messages from this controller. Do you have a MIDI table for it?

I know the layout of your controller, what I don't know is if they send a MIDI message as output or just swap the address of the buttons internally. I am thinking that it must do the second much like the DDJ-SX. In that case it is a hardware setting, however, this is all my speculation because I don't have enough information. The web site only provides a quick start up guide not a full manual. Perhaps you can fine where you read about the hardware and point me there.

Another thing, as far as I know there is no Deck switch command in Cross but It thought that perhaps you had some additional information about Cross commands. For know a full manual or a MIDI table would help, maybe Numark can provide you with that.
