ALDI USB DJ Controller & iMac Not Working

Postby Welsh Legend on 07 Jul 2014, 20:47

Hello All,

I am totally at my wits end so I thought I would ask on this forum for some help, Let me explain .......

I purchased an ALDI Envivo USB DJ Controller which came with MV SE software which I assume should work with it but no matter what I did it would not work with my i7 Windows 8.,1 computer so I returned it to ALDI for a refund. This happened a few months ago.

Today I was in ALDI's again and saw the same Envivo USB DJ Controllers and I read on the box it was Mac compatible and as I have changed my i7 computer for an iMac 27" I bought another one to try with my iMac.

GUESS WHAT ?????

It does not work. I registered on Mixvibes site and downloaded the new 2.6 version of the SE software and it installs fine but the DJ controller just flashes once for half a second and thats it - Nothing - zip - dead.

Can anyone please tell me what to do or if anyone has got it working with an iMac and if so what did they do ????

Thanks very much in advance

Hi Rubber

Tried everything I can think off software wise but I think it is MIDI or maybe Mac related as the lights are not on even - It does recognise its there though as it asks you to plug it in if you start the software with the controller unplugged.

Please let's use this topic to get it resolved and no longer use the other one. To avoid your info gettting spread and you being the only one knowing what is where. (I copied my respons here, though I notices some info)

Welcome back, Sorry if we have to start from scratch, but likely it can be resolved for you. First we need to know what you did sofar. (more detailed than 'tried all' as we hope you missed an option).

- Did you download latest drivers from controller manufacturer.
- Did you install latest version of Cross LE (check Downloads section).

I assume you purchased a current iMac model.

Cross will check for a MIDI device at startup. SO it must be active in the OS at that moment. If you install afterwards it won't work (likely no more in that Cross session).

Just to be sure: the not working is about the MIDI commands not reflected in an action (splitsecond)?
Or are there audio issues?

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

OK - Sorry I should be more precise.

I have registered on the mix vibes site and downloaded and installed the most recent MAC software which was version 2.6

I have an iMac 27" late 2013 which is about 2 months old.

I have not installed any drivers as don't know where they are for a Mac and I thought that was part of the software download.

I have looked in the MIDI setup in Mac launchpad other and see a MIDI 8 setup which I assume is the controller as it was not there before

To repeat - The not working is the controller or I think thats what is not working - When I plug it in I get a quick flash of all the lights for half a second on the keys with lights like CUE and SYNC and REV etc. and then nothing.

Hope this explains better where I am?

Hmmmmmm

Have a little more to add .....

Managed to contact the Envivo supplier and they asked for a copy of the ALDI receipt as proof of purchase and said they would replace my unit so we shall see ......

Hi. Thanks for telling.
Sorry it didn't workout. Still some kind of mystery.

With some limited function (like no preview) you can keep using Cross Free if you like.

Would you be so kind to remove the license key from your profile, so a new buyer may use it without trouble.

You can stay in touch with MixVibes by keeping your profile if you like.

Enjoy life and music,
regards
Ronald
