Hey guys, we are using Cross for our setup of two timecode vinyls and 2 CDJs 900 nexus, which is actually working great, but took us a lot of time to set up, but now that it is working its great, we just wanted to let the Mixvibes team know what we think about it. First of all, there is a problem, bothering us the most, which is the CDJs screen being used 50% for the cover of the track you play, which is not usefull at all, is it possible to show the BPM/bigger waveform instead of the cover which nobody cares about when DJing? Next is the problem, that sometimes, configurations you make in Cross will be lost after restarting Cross or switching from one soundcard to another, which includes the Input/Output routing and such, please fix this. Another bug we found has to do with analysing new tracks. Sometimes when you put a new track in a deck, it won`t start analysing it or will just stop right in the middle of the process, UNTIL you put another track in another deck, and that is when it will go on with analysing the first track, which is annoying. Is it possible to skip/outfade the faders when using an external mixer? I mean, there is no scenario where it is usefull to have the equalizer of the software when using an external mixer and its using up space you could use for a bigger waveform, or other things. Is it possible to show not only how long the playing track is going to last, but also a forward going timer which shows you how long you played the track already? Thats it for the moment, hope you can help me or take those ideas into your developmet process

Try a click on the cover.... Next is the problem, that sometimes, configurations you make in Cross will be lost after restarting Cross or switching from one soundcard to another, which includes the Input/Output routing and such, please fix this.
There is much more to this than Cross can do. Most is at the OS level which includes exclusive use of soundcards and channels. The way you ask would be nicest, but will with current options return unpredictable results. Another bug we found has to do with analysing new tracks. Sometimes when you put a new track in a deck, it won`t start analysing it or will just stop right in the middle of the process, UNTIL you put another track in another deck, and that is when it will go on with analysing the first track, which is annoying.
This would be a bug. So more specifics are needed. Like setup, specs, Cross version, file type. The best way would be to analyse your tracks before, just as it reduces CPU performance on load. You can do this by batch select tracks e.g. at an unattended moment. Is it possible to skip/outfade the faders when using an external mixer? I mean, there is no scenario where it is usefull to have the equalizer of the software when using an external mixer and its using up space you could use for a bigger waveform, or other things.
Cross is mainly build nowadays on creating visible 'strips' with keeping similar relative positioning in the available setups. If the mixer section (which is less usefull) would disappear also the remaining controls should have to disappear from there and be placed somewhere unexpected. Is it possible to show not only how long the playing track is going to last, but also a forward going timer which shows you how long you played the track already?

Thanks for the suggestions. Don't hesitate asking as anything will change one day.

I think you got me wrong there, I dont mean the cover in Cross on my PC, but on the Screen of the Pioneer CDJ900nexus, where usually the waveform is being shown in big, when using Cross, half of the screen is being used by the cover There is much more to this than Cross can do. Most is at the OS level which includes exclusive use of soundcards and channels. The way you ask would be nicest, but will with current options return unpredictable results.
How can that be on the OS-Level, when every other software can store its settings properly? This would be a bug. So more specifics are needed. Like setup, specs, Cross version, file type. The best way would be to analyse your tracks before, just as it reduces CPU performance on load. You can do this by batch select tracks e.g. at an unattended moment.
Windows 7 64-bit 2x Turntables 2x Pioneer CDJ 900 nexus Allen & Heath Xone DB2 We use the DB2 mixer as soundcard and connect the CDJs by USB with the PC. We usually analyse all of our tracks before DJing, but sometimes it happens you download a track right before a gig and forget to analyse it before packing your equipment and arriving at the venue. Yea right, big thanks

Cover... oops...
Soundcard: Yes there are programs that have some smarter thing. However most don't and just present the MRU. The MRU often is the sc number in the list, not the name. So as long as the sc list n the OS is sorted identical it 'works'. Using Mic/in Audio/Out is easier for making it work to.
As Cross allows for more, like using multiple soundcards, it is more complicated. To have this function right you should be able to rely on it, meaning always create MRU result. As long as various OS settings (and SC drivers and USB ports) can be involved between sessions, as well as changes in audio channels being exclusive it would be more reliable to know that changing sc needs manual intervention.
To 'good' thing is that given the possible problems you are aware of what to do. This would be way harder if you get surprises like left and right being switched, system sounds thru your setup, laptop mic channeled in and whatever can go wrong.
analyses: do you have some PC specs and file info. It is unknwon behaviour, so hard to duplicate. And just to be sure you mean the white bar holding and not the small orange one.
