DDJSX UPDATED MAPPING

Postby dj eazy on 08 Jun 2014, 01:35

Can someone please update the mapping for the DDJSX to work with the newer firmware, so our wheels will work proper. Both Serato and VDJ has already updated the mapping to work and has perfect wheel control, but both mixvibes and traktor still has not updated the mapping. The newer firmware allows you to use any software with the ddj sx with out having to put it in MIDI mode. MIDI mode has bad lag on jog wheels, so we can not backspin, and the track indicator on the wheels slips. Running direct in serato mode, the wheels whork as they should. I just tried with VDJ and its perfect, but I like mixvibes and don't want to switch. PLEASE UPDATE

DJ easy

I have been using the DDJ-SX for quite some time and when I saw your post I re-check that I was using the latest firmware and driver from Pioneer. I am not experiencing any lags at all with Cross 2.6 or 3.1. One thing to check is to make sure that 14 bits is checked on in the MIDI mapping section.
Below are some details on what I am using which are the latest files that I found other than the Traktor update which is provided by Pioneer not Native Instruments.
Firmware=1.07
Driver=1.0
Active Cross versions= 2.6 and 3.1
MIDI map= is a custom map that combine some very good features from 2.5 on and added the latest Cross video features in 3.1. However, the standard 3.1 map from Mixvibes should work fine.

Hey FigDJ, Thanks for the reply. My problem is with the wheels. Track light does not follow, the wheel movement when scratching and beat joggle, Release the wheels to pull back, it falls in a complete different spot. Back spin works in more like an effect. When I back spin, I can see on the screen and hear it back spin, but since the wheels don't follow the song, when I stop, I'm not where I need to be. Can you tell me what your wheel settings are.

Are you saying that we no longer need to put DDJ-SX into MIDI mode to use it with Cross?

The last Pioneer firmware update (V.1.07) for the DDJ-SX was released in May 2013. What update are you referring to?

acemc .. Yes that is correct. But the software team of the whatever software you use, would have to update the coding file of the mapping to match the firmware. You then, would NOT have to put it in MIDI mode. MIDI mode has issue's with wheel lag, sensitivity adjust, and track light holding position. This info came straight from Pioneer them self. Virtual DJ updated there mapping a few months back and works flawless with the DDJ -SX in native serato mode. That's what i'm using now, until Cross updates the mapping file to match the firmware. I already miss my locators, but i prefer to have everything working like it should after spending almost $900 on the ddj.
