Hi,

Just discovered this thread and sorry to say I can figure out what's your issue in the end..! Could you please, in a few clear words, explain what you did and what's not working?

Re:Crosspack setup...

Postby dR3+tS on 07 May 2014, 02:12

Hi.
Im going to have to cut and paste some things from the large 174 page Cross/Cross DJ/LE...etc user manual as just a couple of things?..in user manual sound as though they kind of contradict themselves.
I still need someone to answer the question I have a few times already asked....but I need it answered such as the following....."No...it does not matter about no ground lead on your turntable....it isn't going to affect anything so no need to worry about no ground lead to lug on audio interface......or "Yes...you have wasted your money and time buying the complete Cross Pack with time code vinyl and U46MK2 audio interface because you don't have ground lead on your turntable".....i can't explain anything more clearly than that can I!?
Its a simple question needing a simple answer....thats all.
Then hopefully when i get that cleared up I can hopefully progress onto trying to get the other stuff quickly sorted out with some screenshots/pics/cut and paste into word doc snippets of texts i will have to describe and ask..."what are they going on about here/what do they mean by this....its all such a drag and life would be so much easier if/and it has to be feasible too if you could be lucky enough to know of someone to just physically be here for what only could be 5-10 mins who can just sit down for 10 mins....knows what to do and then i would get it sorted so much quicker and easier than trying to make sense of an all too much jumping from one thing to another user guide.
I know of a guy who does DJ'ing and stuff....but he uses racks and stuff...but still i reckon if i asked him he may know how to help.

Im only used to basic set up(old school equipment)ie 2 x technics SL1200 turntables,my denon DN1200 DJ cd/usb media player all via RCA leads to my behringer vmx 300 2 channel mixer/amplifier....

My amplifier is connected to output 1/2(on back of U46MK2 red/white RCA...and when you look at top of U46MK2 its under output 1)
That is going to my yamaha RX V361 Amplifier..to DTV/CBL which is where i usually connect my behringer vmx 300 mixer to....but i aint using an external mixer with Cross Pack...im using the internal mixer and I'm getting it(DECK A/B) come through headphones and i got headphones plugged into phones jack at front of U46MK2.
If i have turntable plugged into input 3/4 on back of U46MK2....do i switch the input 3/4 switch on front of U46MK2 to phono or what?
Can someone tell me if my technics SL1200 turntable even has some sort of "pre-amp"?
I thought the only "pre-amp" was only ever in things like my behringer vmx 300 mixer when/if i use that with my turntables connected to that.
But my deck(turntable) is connected to U46MK2 as i wish to use the internal mixer of Cross and the time coded vinyl.

The persons who tried to get it working for you have decades of experience in digital dj-ing. If you know all better and ignore any question to be answered regarding causes or excluding causes it might take long before you are setup.

If your tt has a pre-amp use that. Usually the build in amp is the best match. This means setting all switches to line as well as the input in Preferences.
Grounding is a complex result of magnetic fields caused by moving objects. With the right components like a ground loop adapter it could be that it has been reduced to below audible level. So let's assume you had the strip removed by someone knowing how to address this.
If you setup dual stereo mode than you have a mix knob fader at right top of Gui. This should be left for cue only. If rifgt it is master only.

Enjoy

Re:Crosspack set up...

Postby dR3+tS on 09 May 2014, 04:42

I tried to upload attachment photos i took with my mobile device on how i have set up Cross according to quick start guide and using external mixer.
I managed to upload 1...but would be so easier if i could of just highlighted/double clicked and able to upload all 3 at a time...as i need someone to see all 3 so my question can be answered.
Would be quicker by email as i could just send to someone all 3 so i can at least get a start as I'm not sure about where the output on U46MK2 for connection to my amplifier goes?
I connect my mixer from "amp to main out" via RCA to DTV/CBL on amp when i was just using the decks on there own.
I have also next to DTV/CBL on my amp a DVR in/out x 2 RCA'S....if that is going to assist somehow?

im in the same position, can't get any decent reliable results, just get bullshit comments from people, i am sick of Cross, almost at the point of putting it in the bin and moving to something professional like serato or tractor. Honestly wish i had never wasted £59 upgrading from Cross DJ
