Cross 2.4 Freeze

NEW PROBLEM- Using Cross 2.6.0, new macbook and American Audio VMS2 MIDI controller/mixer. I was djing a job last night when a completely new problem occurred. I had a track is playing in player A, when i drag and dropped a song onto player B, player A STOPS and the new song loads into BOTH players, and music stops. Then it acts normal a couple times, then the same thing would happen. It happened with both players A & B. I quit Cross, I restarted computer, nothing fixed it. I ended up switching to the clubs mixer and playing between iPod and computer. Today I am trying to figure out problem before I play a party tonite, and the problem seems gone! for now…but i don't trust that it won't happen again... agghhh!! help?

Hi siobhan415, really sorry you encountered issues with 2.6 too.

However, I don't really understand what happened.

Did you really drag and dropped onto player B (I mean, using the mouse)? As you're using a VMS-2, it seems pretty weird.

Moreover, the behavior you describe looks like you triggered a 'Clone" action (cloning the track a player into the other).
This happen when you load in player B, for instance, the same track than in player A.
If you are using your VMS-2, the weird behavior you describe might be due to:
- either a bug in the MIDI mapping,
- or a bug in the controller (sending both "load in A" and "load in B" MIDI messages when pushing one button),
- or a error of the DJ, mistakenly pushing both load buttons.

I'll check the built-in mapping, but any additional info appreciated

I know this may be quite a bit late but I have the same problem in Cross 3.0.0. And it also seems I have the same model of DJ Controller, the VMS2.

I can describe the same experience. I press the load button and then suddenly both decks load the same track. I have also set a lock on the deck that is playing so I cannot load a song onto a playing deck. Yet, once in a while, when I press the load button, the song still loads into both players...

Wondering now if its not only me that has this problem.

upgraded to 3.1. and JUST NOW experiencing same problem- after months of NOT experiencing it! so strange!

Since Friday the current version is 3.2.0. You might want to use that one. Some bugfixes are in there for minor 3.1 issues. (aside from new soundcloud integration). I have not seen your issue mentioned as fixed.
It is a bit strange that it occasionally happens. Makes it hard to determine if it is a mapping issue or something different or even both.

When loading, what are you loading from (prepare, collection,autoplay).

Do you use a default mapping or a modified one. If the latter could you check the control is mapped with load only function?

i am using 3.1 since it's release, worked fine except for occasional buzz problem i mentioned in earlier post. As of yesterday have the same problem with the track loading into BOTH players when i load it into one, stopping the song that was playing in other player. please help!

i have 2.6 3.0 and 3.1 have the same problem in all. loading a track (a different track) into player thats NOT playing, new track loads into both players and stops song playing in other track. this is also happening when not connected to MIDI controller, so i don't think its the AA VMS2. what can i do? i'm forced to use limited version of virtual DJ for now. has anyone encountered this problem and fixed it?

it am using playlists created on Cross and iTunes, so in the collection, that i have placed on the side bar, happens with both. i use default mapping.

so i tried 3.2 and still have the same problem. i guess Cross DJ is broken…for me. upgraded and switching to virtual DJ.

sorry for the english ;i got the same problem and i m in mac book too.
when you try to load track in b when a is playing ;it makes stop the sound and load track in the both channel.at last you are afraid to load a song because its not happenning all all the time .
think that the team dont get solution fot that; thats why i found a no recommendable version of tractor pro 2 just the time to buy a licence.and its working very very well with tractor
