VDJ is just showing what's on the HDD.

You can do it in Cross too.
Browse you hard drive in the 'Files' pane of the collection.

With all due respect, no it is not. These are files within the program. It certainly has the ability to view what is on the hard drive as well, the same/similar way Cross does it.

I have Virtual DJ and know how it works.

I am not asking Cross to be VDJ, but this is pretty basic. Drag and drop folder importing... gets no easier than that.

Sorry to say VDJ is only showing the HDD file structure...
I have the Home Version running while writing this message.

But anyway, this only means you want more than the file structure.
So the question is: What's in this VDJ view do you like and would want to have in Cross?

Again, to confirm... Here is an ACTUAL picture of the folders that I dragged and dropped into VDJ Professional. This is not a picture of my drive within the program.

I am glad I stepped away from this approach way back (I guess we are about same age). I am pretty sure everybody in the forum here understands what you are saying; it is just not a basic expectation. The MV team stepped away from this and (most) think for good reason.
All you wish can be done. It is just a different point in time for the effort to get it the way you want to use it.
It is inconvient to set it up if you did not have it.
Cross has a fast database. You might have interpreted 'search' as looking for a single track. If you however use the search function for grouping it brings you instantly to any (kind of) playlist.
If you also use the column browser and/or album browser you are pretty close to what you do by manual setup of folder structure.

Basically Cross uses the tags of a track to get organized; they added some more fields and have the best solution (in my opinion).

And I am not sure how you handle 'similar' tracks in all the folders, but with the Cross functionality you likely are easier in getting the same track instead of having them in many places.

And it might be worthwhile to now that age doesn't matter. The MV team are not just young guys...

I understand what you are saying about using search, find the tags you need and then make playlists based on that.

A few problems... Cross is not importing all the tags correctly. I input my tracks and now the "comments" tag does not appear. Unfortunately, for me, that is where I have my "month" information stored. It's not showing up.

Also, when I try to analyze, it says that I have a corrupt track. Any idea where the corrupt track is?

i know what you're trying to do. However, the only way and a quick way is to manually create a folder with playlist then drag your folder relating to the created playlist in. this will add it in to the playlist and to the main collection. Setting up a folder with playlist take seconds. Or you can pay the extortion price of VDJ.

Hi Djmagicmoments,

A corrupt detected track has a red ! in the status field.
You can try to analyze it once more. If no luck, than likely something is wrong. You could have the team give it a try. However my experience it that it often are tracks missing some data somewhere in the middle.
If Cross crashes on analyses please send track to the team, so they can catch the error to avoid Cross crashing in similar situations.

Great you had a good result with Cross. And glad you're sharing. You might also wanna check out the setting enable 'Sync link' and 'reset pitch at track load'.
