Pioneer DDJ SB Mapping PLs

Postby VDj Sean T on 17 Dec 2013, 10:13

Hi,
I just ordered the above controller & I'm not buying Serato DJ + Video as yet. Would like MV to give us a TIGHT MAPPING for this controller. . . Especially the JOGS , KNOBS & FADERS. ( In terms of delay ) for Cross DJ.

Thanks,
Sean

 :surprised: have you ventured in to the MIDI mapping utility ,, created by a user to help educate people intrested in learning how to map and alter the existing mappings for there needs  this might be one of the avenues of recourse to get it done,, are there existing mappings for compatable controllers ,,will give some insight into how to adapt and figure out a mapping for your needs ,, as you progress in your endevor aid will be there to assist someone who is trying to accomplish something ,, enjoy

Hi Daniel,

I know ;) . . .Coz i mapped Traktor to my Vfx Control tight, when i first got the controller. . . but I'm not gonna try anything out until i see Cross 3.0 . . till then ill wait & then ill decide to use the DDJ SB with Cross or Serato.

Between u & me . . .I tried Serato yesterday before placing the order & its so clear to watch the wave forms move slowly & spread out from each other. Also the CPU meter was quite low ( less than 1/4 ). They just don't have the Harmonic mixing like Cross .

Also full kill when the knobs are down on the Eq's.

Nice Matt finish but still bright waveforms . Cross should try it ( Bright Matt Finish on the spectrum ) Also same spectrum for the Beatmatcher . It should be spread out & slow with spectrum colours.

Anyways . . don't wanna bore u with what i think . Thanks Daniel once again.

Cheers,
Sean :)

Nobody is bored by advises.
We don't have this controller to test it. We can map it if we have one in hands...
So, not yet later yes...

i took the plunge and i went out and bought the very nice ddi-sb for those portable moments where a club has terrible decks….. and i can confirm that it all works perfectly with the ddj-sx MIDI mapping except for one thing the jog wheels do not work in vinyl mode so if you have all your hot cues set up you can set them to your cue button and then adjust with the jog wheel but if you are wanting to scratch then its a no no until the main dudes adds this unit in…. great little controller much nicer that the ddi-wego..

Hey,

Thanks for the info,,,, appreciate it. . . Too bad about the scratch part . . . I hope someone comes up with a tight integration for that. . Its very important to show our skills at the club. I wonder who can do this MV or Pioneer ?

I think Pioneer should help out because MV was kind enough to create REKORD BOX for them. But then again, i don't know bcoz its a dedicated Serato controller. Lets c what comes up :)

Cheers,
Sean

I can't say Pioneer is clever.
Mapping of the controller must be done by Mixvibes or users.

I think we are waiting to receive from Pioneer this controller but christmas and new year doesn't help
