Pioneer DDJ-SX what featured don't work in Cross DJ?

Postby Jimbosyourman on 12 Dec 2013, 16:21

Hi I'm collecting a Pioneer DDJ-SX the weekend. Just wanted to know from people's experience what functions do not work within Cross DJ . ( I'm refusing to use Serato). Please let me know from your expieriences. Thanks Jim

I can't tell you what doesn't work when compared to Serato because i don't use Serato. However, I can tell you that the DDJ-SX work very well with Cross and CrossDJ.

You may want to take a look at this page

http://www.mixvibes.com/compatible-controllers

to examine some of the fuctions.

All LED's in the controller work with the current MIDI map.

Hello,

The MV mapping covers almost all the features you will find in Serato except the "Dual Deck". The effect section is more advanced in Serato with additional effect package... The Jog led looks also better with Serato, most probably a special protocol to control the scrolling.

But for me, it's really minor issues, Cross works very well with the DDJ-SX and if you're familar with CDJs, you'll feel like "at home" :)

Dual deck has no issue, it's a hardware feature. What do you expect from this that you did not find with Cross?

Sorry, but The dual deck is fully functional, in Cross. ;)

The "dual deck" is hardware.
We programmed the same functions on each deck.

And, when the decks C or D are sampler, you can drive from the samples, the Hotcues of the slave deck and vice versa.
It is even better than serato, on this one. ;)

i find the sx works much better with Cross than serato (i used serato for soooo many years but have left them for being too old fashioned)

the only thing thats different is if your using deck a as a audio player and hit sampler it creates a quick 8 from the beats that was about to play but if you switch it to deck c and it was a sample bank and you hit sampler then it will be what ever samples you had loaded up

i haven't had too much play with the fx side of it but it is different to how it works to serato

i don't think I'm gonna play with the effects as i ended up playing with them too much when playing live and spoiling the song

Sorry guys, my mistake... I was completely wrong regarding "Dual Deck". So, in a nutshell, forget Serato & enjoy Cross DJ :D
