Cross instantly crashes upon launch

My copy of Cross has started to instantly crash whenever I open it. It opens up fine then the second I try to press anything with my mouse the program stops responding. I've tried updating it and installing it on a different drive, I've also tried the Cross LE version and I have the same problem. Been using this program daily for a long time now and this has suddenly started happening out of the blue!

need a little bit more info as to your set up and operating system being used ,, also any changes between the time the program was running fine and now ,, even any screen shots of and info that might help ,,to give us a chance too see what is going on ,,

I've narrowed it down to happening only when I press the files tab (where I keep my music) I have my OS and Cross installed on my SSD, with my music and other large files on the HDD. The program seems to run fine up until I press the "files" option, it instantly stops working when I try to get into it.

Running W7, using the U-Mix Control 2. PC is fairly new - specs are
samsung 128gb SSD
1TB western digital internal hdd
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz
Sapphire HD 7850 1024MB GDDR5 (gpu)
MSI Z77A-G43 Intel Z77 ddr3 (mobo)
Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB ddr3 (ram)

There isn't much that I've changed to my PC other than that I've downloaded a few mp3s & installed a copy of FL studio 11. I couldn't give an exact date when it started but it seems to have just happened out of the blue

I realize the image has the previous version of Cross but I just re installed that version to see if it made any difference, which it doesn't.

Hey,

is the UMCP2 connected to the computer when you start the program?
if it will not help check also uninstall the version. Go to your AppData folder under your personal profile (is invisible so you need to enable the invisible file view) go to local and MixVibes and rename the folder of Cross in like Cross.Backup. After that you install Cross again and start it again. Is the problem still there. If not it was a broken Cross config file.
But this method is only for emergency so first check all other options. This will open a brand new media system at Cross and also settings are default again.

Hey thanks for the advice, the program crashes both with & without the controller plugged in. I can't seen to find the AppData folder - I assume its in the Cross program files? I've enabled view hidden files but still can't see it. The program wont actually recognize the controller oddly enough, it powers up as usual but there is no response from the knobs/faders etc

Hey,

the config folder is under windows 7 and above at this location (you need to change your username and rootpartion depending on your system and user account name)

<Root-Partition (Windows partition):\Users\<User-Name>\AppData\Roaming\MixVibes\Cross

you can rename this folder and install Cross again and check what happens then and report us the result.

So I've renamed the Cross folder in APP data, and I've installed a new version of Cross 2.60 but its asking for a license key when I try to run the program. I'm currently at university and I haven't got my install disc here, but I've registered the key with the mixvibes site.

Is there anything I can do or should I wait till I can go back home to get the key?

Go in your forum profile, your serial is in there.

You have a Cross Avatar, so you have registered your Cross serial here on the forum and it should be in your Profile.

Thanks for pointing that out, totally forgot it was on my profile. That seems to have fixed the problem! Cross works fine now, thanks a lot for the help guys. +rep!
