Re: Rekordbox sync

Postby riquo on 25 Sep 2013, 18:28

very easy setup, Mac osx 10.8.4, rekordbox 2.1.1, Cross 2.5.0 and i even tried Cross RC 2.5.0.

fresh installation of everything.

it can not be me.

after import, when Cross start analyzing the tracks, it simply screws up cue points and the beatgrid's downbeats, and it does that RANDOMLY and for some tracks only.

some other tracks are perfectly imported.

i have found to recurring behaviors.
thanks for your help

Hey guys,

Sorry to be re-visiting this problem and causing you added grief hehe If you remember, I had this problem a couple of months ago, and a new version of rekordbox was later released to fix the XML issues, but I am still having the problem (like the above user) where the rekordbox beatgrids do not come out properly.

I am super excited about the new feature in Cross 2.6 of being able to export from Cross to RB, but until I can safely transfer from RB to Cross, I wouldn't feel safe syncing the other way, since I am dependent on my rekordbox library at the moment.

Any news? Thanks again (very sorry to bother you guys, you've all been doing incredible work on the software!)

+1

I also rely completely on Rekordbox as my "one and only" source.

I bought Cross because I understood it would read immediately the Rekordbox library, plug and play.

So I could go to any gig with my Rekordbox-treated USB sticks when CDJs are in place, OR otherwise bring my laptop with Cross.

What I mean is that there's a big market out there for a perfect synergy Rekordbox + Cross.

Please fix those bugs asap!
Thanks for listening and big up for your great work and software, which I can't wait to be using on a steady basis!

hi daniel,

yes i did.
but there's a kind of confusion (to me) on the meaning of "Rekorbox Sync".

version 2.6 allows a sync FROM Cross to Rekordbox, meaning the optimal thing should be to prepare all of one's library in Cross and then sync it to Rekordbox.

But that's not what i want - and i don't think i'm be the only one out there! :-)
I want to beatgrid my tracks in Rekordbox (ONLY in Rekordbox), which is graphically MUCH easier and accurate, and simply then use it in Cross.

That's for me the meaning of "Rekorbox Sync":
MASTER = Rekordbox Library
SLAVE = Cross

instead in version 2.6 is exactly the opposite.
Hope it makes sense.
Thanks for listening!

What about your issues while importing beatgrids and cues from rekordbox to Cross, is it fixed by your side ?

Hi stick.

No it's not fixed.
It still randomly mess up some beatgrids.

I wish I could find some recurring patterns... so far, is pure randomness: some tracks are perfectly ok, but others don't.

The "funny" thing is that I can see that the cue points are correctly placed, but the beatgrids don't.
Why don't they start/align on the cue points?
(I assume 90% of the users are placing the cue points on first quarter's downbeats, especially in house music)

Could you upload us a specific track which reproduces this issue ?
This would be pretty helpful.

Thanks for caring!

I just reinstalled version 2.6 (I was running the beta version before) and made a clean import again.

1) good news: looks like grids and cue points are together again!
i checked 20 songs, hope i won't find other surprise around! :-)

2) bad news: the combination "grids + cue points" is sometimes offset in the waveform.

I attached underneath one original file beatgrided with Rekordbox:
Sunshine_Rekordbox.png

and the result after being imported into Cross:
Sunshine_Cross.png

Why this slight offset?
When I sync this track with some other ones, the kicks are horrible to hear and I need to adjust manually the mix...

I have found many tracks with those issues.
Thanks again!
