A little moan about the filter/high pass effects on Cross.
Whenever I listen to mixes by my favourite producers I'm always struck by the sound of what I assume is the filter they're using. It successfully cuts bass but not in a way that emphasises the treble.
The filter in Cross (assuming using it from centre to the right) always leaves far too much treble behind, at a volume that is quite sharp/distracting.
By default when you use a UMCP2 the bi-directional effects option is unticked. In this case, when you use the high pass effect, turned about a quarter there is a sudden kick of volume and bass is heard, often tripping the master volume alert. I've since found that if you enable bi-directional effects and leave depth at the minimum, you can use high pass and get a much more effective high-pass/filter effect. Without the bass effect and volume mentioned before.
I'm very bad at articulating this issue, I understand that, but does anyone else agree? Cross is perfect for me for nearly everything but the filter. Are there any plans to improve the filter and effects?
Am I talking nonsense?!
