Cross - New Laptop - Sound Lags

Postby dvvvayne on 29 Aug 2013, 22:53

Hi. I've bought new laptop for Djing and i have some problem with Cross software.
Sometimes the sound is lagged or distorted. It may last a few seconds or till i change buffer size to any another setting. When it's done everything get back to normal sound.
I tried to optimize laptop for djing, wifi off, bluetooth off, every other program off, laptop without any viruses, also I analised every of my tracks. Specification of computer:
Lenovo G580
Intel Pentium i7
16GB ram
Nvidia Gforce 2GB
Windows 7

It doesnt matter which soundcard i'm using and what is setting of buffer size. I'm using U-Mix Control Pro and DVS, but problem still happens without any hardware connected.
Please help.

Have you tried different screen resolutions? if there's something wrong with the gfx drivers this might occasionally be a cpu hog. Just a thought. :?:

I'm using recomended resolution for this laptop - 1366x768 and haven't tried another yet.
I'll try smaller and download newest drivers for gfx and cpu.

Besides that problem, laptop is very good, and also good priced for that specification but i bought it specially for djing and aren't happy when something is wrong with it.

I wonder why changing buffer size fix the problem in a while...

I've downloaded CPU and GFX newest drivers, made defragmentation, and deleted every laptop standard apps, like Lenovo Energy Management and Lenovo Solution Center, and it looks like the problem has been solved :)

Lenovo Energy Management was the problem. I had the same issues on a Y450 a few years ago.
