Trouble Reading iTunes Files

Postby wannabe1 on 28 Aug 2013, 22:46

Hello-

I own the full version of Cross DJ and am looking to switch from using VDJ Pro to Cross DJ. I'm loving the interface but have hit a stumbling block.

I use a MacBook Pro with Retina Display. I installed Cross DJ directly from the Apple Store to my Mac and also registered my copy here on the forums. The copy I registered on the forums is not the same copy I installed on my Mac. I purchased My Cross DJ software directly from Mixvibe but after it wouldn't install, I purchased a 2nd copy from the iTunes store.

So when loading some (Not all) tracks from iTunes, I'm encountering this following error message. “The file access is restricted (OSX-sandbox limitations), you first have to resolve access by selecting one of its parent folder. Cancel or Resolve”

When I select resolve, I'm taken to the Mac HD screen and see the following folders:

1.User Information
2.Applications
3.Library
4.System
5.Users

There's no information about which of these folder I should look in so then I look through my favorites folds and search in “Music.” Once I find the file, I have to click on it, then it will play.

My question, since I purchased Cross DJ directly from the iTunes store and downloaded it directly to my Mac, why am I having to go through this process in order to play some songs from my iTunes library. I can play all of my iTunes songs directly in Virtual DJ and Traktor with no issue.

Please help.

AFAIK the app store version has file access restrictions that Apple requires. The direct download version on Mixvibes site has no foolish restrictions so you need to install that one.

Yes, reinstall with the Non-app store version, and you will be good to go without your issues.

Thank you guys. I uninstalled the app store copy and reinstalled a fresh copy directly from Mix Vibe.

Again thanks.

The issue should now be fixed in latest MacAppStore version of Cross DJ, so to answer the initial question :

So when loading some (Not all) tracks from iTunes, I'm encountering this following error message. “The file access is restricted (OSX-sandbox limitations), you first have to resolve access by selecting one of its parent folder. Cancel or Resolve”

Select any parent folder and click "Open", it will give access to all of its contents files recursively.

So to be peaceful with these Sandbox limitations, I recommend MacAppStore version users to directly select the hdd where you have your tracks and click open.

This fix the access on problematic "~/Music/iTunes" folder.
