You are completely right Cross DJ will let you use the CDJ2000 as a normal MIDI controller here is a Pioneer video tutorial on how to connect them Although with Cross (not CrossDJ) you get HID mode witch means you get all info on the CDJ screen such as track name wave form locator marker
