appearent dropouts in files loaded into CrossDJ 2.4.0 RC

Postby djmg on 19 Apr 2013, 00:10

I have been using the CrossDJ 2.4 RC and have been impressed with the new features, but have come across an issue that baffled me for several days.

In some tracks I have noticed some brief audio drop outs, at first I was thinking they were from buffer delay while the computer was doing other tasks, but they would occur at the same place. Then I noticed that when you zoom all the way into the wave form you can see the spot where the wave goes to zero. This prompted me to think that the file itself had been compromised.

First, I re-encoded the file and opened it in 2.4 again, and found the same drop outs again. Then, I opened the file using an audio editor, and the drop outs were nowhere to be found! Finally, I backed down to 2.3.1 and opened the same track, it appeared and played normally.

One other thing I noticed is that these drop outs do not always appear in the same locations. For one day, I was finding them in particular locations, then the following day the wave form looked normal there, and I thought whatever was happening was over. But then listening to it i heard them in different locations. I took some screen shots of this from both versions of CrossDJ.

Known issue and I think I've seen that it's been fixed for the final release version.

Tell me if you want to modify it.
