There is nothing that will give you the cycling effect of the sync zone.

But based on what you have found, what about this one ?
fam(Sampler)[@].PadActiveNeedleSearch

It will act for the active pad from the active sampler.

I know that would work but I have to create a 16 beat loop of anything that runs insync within the sampler, one for player A and one for player B. That effectively takes away one pad for each sampler just to use the needle search output as the pad must be run continuosly and muted in order not to distrub the current mix.

By having the specific output available i can have the visual effect provided as an output to a ring LED display in the controller rather than looking at the laptop screen.

Very interested in Quneo controllers as they seem the only ideal small footprint, portable ones that could do so many tricks (and being class compliant for possible iPad use too). I was thinking of perhaps using 2 of them, but placed 'sideways' so that the drum style pads would be at the bottom and the 'jog' pads on top. My biggest concern is that how good the Quneo really is and how hard it is to map the led outputs, the moving jog pad leds look nice on a (Traktor) video, have you tried something similar ?

I am in the process of finalizing the mapping for the Quneo. I have two of them and they work in one single mapping.
Quneo 1 Contols evrything in Player A and Sampler C while Quneo 2 Control Player B and Sampler D. Quneo is very flexible so it could be daunting to map at the beginning. Each one have 16 presets and each preset can have 4 banks, that combined with the Modifier logic in Cross makes for buttons and LED galore.

If you get one or two Quneos and need help mapping them I will be glad to help. The mapping is all depending on what you want to do.

Very cool.
About to get one Quneo first, pretty soon(ish). Looks like a great portable and versatile controller that is also class compliant (for iPad) in case of PC emergency.
