Pioneer CDJ 850 - HID

Postby FlippAtSpace on 28 Feb 2013, 12:09

Hi All,

searched the forum a bit but didn't find anything regarding the topic.
I am running Cross and 2 Pioneer CDJ850s in HID Mode.

Is it possible not only to show the actually marked tracks on the display of the 850 but also show the actual running track.

I often search for tracks on my laptop and not with the knob on the 850s, so I dodn't really need to see which track is selected in Cross. It would be much better to see which track is running on which 850, so you don't need to check that on the laptop.

Is that possible? Is that something that can be changed withing Cross?

Thanks

Philipp

Nope you can't.
It should have been possible, judging from the native 850 behavior but unfortunately, the Pioneer HID interface is incomplete et doesn't allow it. Sorry!

As this is possible with for example traktor will this be possible with one of the next Cross versions? I saw a video with traktor were you can use the info button and got that view I mentioned before. I think this would be a really great feature.

As you can see, you need to look at the computer screen to load a track using SSL ... Ain't this worse that not having the loaded track displayed?
By the way, it confirms that's not possible to have both the list and the loaded track on the screen using HID...

You should definitely believe me when i say:

I'm not talking about Cross, but the Pioneer device itself!
Be sure if it had been possible, i had implemented the info display...

Best,

sure I believe every developer

I only thought that this would be a nice feature, but if this is not possible with the 850s so what. But it might be possible if Pioneer would extend the HID interface for the 850s?

They won't : there are more flaws than this one on the higher models and they don't intend to do anything, I don't see the 4th decks into the family having love if the other ones doesn't.
