Cannot use MIDI mapping, nocturn windows 8

Hi

I have a Novation Nocturn connected, and previously setup the MIDI mappings manually, which worked fine, they have now gone and it just says there is no MIDI device connected, it is though as can be seen in AutoMap (4.6), Cross is latest version 2.3.0, and its on windows 8, I think when I changed to Win 8 it stopped working. To start with I could see the mapping, but it did not work, and trying to change it made it disappear, see screenshot...

Is the Novation agent Win8 compatible ?

yes, the novation part works too

its just mixvibes is not picking it up

Will look for a Novation device to test, must have some Dicer or a Launchpad somewhere.

Ok, I have found what is your issue. You didn't allowed network communication for the automap agent.

it does look like that, same settings, still no joy

should I try reinstalling mixvibes and automap?

Ok, I have found what is your issue. You didn't allowed network communication for the automap agent.

Your firewall have blocked the communication because when you have installed the automap you didn't allow the network, so edit your rules.

You can also see in my screencapture that Cross DOES see the automap and the controler, so uninstall/installing Cross billions times will never change anything in your case.

ok, well in your picture there is nothing about windows firewall so it mislead me. I was looking at the settings you had there...

I tried adjusting the settings in the firewall but didnt work, so I uninstalled and reinstalled automap and it worked straight away. I upgraded from win 7 to win 8 so I guess it didn't do the firewall settings for that program correctly?

Ok, my picture was to show you the devices into Cross even with W8 and latest Automap.
Anyway, glad it now works for you.
