Can you run Cross 2.3 with NI kontrol z2?

Hello to everybody!!! I would Like to know if traktor kontrol z2 run well with Cross?

It's ok to use it LIKE MIDI controller and DVS soundcard?

it´ll work, but you need to use internal mode since the Z2 has no "real"
DVS soundcard (e.g 4in/4out routed to the channel A & B but 4in/4out routed to Master and Headphone)

Also not all elements on it are MIDI (CueA/B, Cue-MIX CF-Curve/Reverse and the HP Volume do not send MIDI-data, but only NHL)

Especially bad for Cue-Section as you will have a very hard time finding the right setting for your headphones volume-wise.

I had a Z2 for 5 weeks but sold it, because it was driving me mad.

imo not making everything MIDI but NHL-only (NI´s data-protocoll) is only to keep you from using it with other software.

I´m not shure you understood me correct.

-you need to use the Z2 in MIDI-mode
-in MIDI-Mode not all buttons send MIDI (CF-Curve, Cue-Section)
-it is very hard to find the right settings, so you do not blow your ears, and also the buttons "Cue A" and "Cue B" will not work.

If you do want a MIxer with a buil-in interface that can do MIDI then get a DJM T1 or a Rane 61 or 62.

For Cross the Z2 is no good.

This kind of tactics like this custom nhl protocol, hardcoded sample decks to work only with Kontrol F1 are enemies of creativity and music itself.

This is the reason why i don't like NI and every other company that follows this kind of tactics.

ok, I understand. I thought that z2 Will be mixer with a sound card, like Pioneer. I thought i could use the cue buttons, the headphone volume as a conventional mixer (like Pioneer).
Z2 it's a controller..(i think) i can't use it with external mix setting!!!
I thought i could use it like mixer and use some control "analogic" and map with MIDI some buttons...it's impossible i think!!!

The DJM-T1 sounds like what you need.

Using the Z2 in internal-mixer mode (aka as acontroller) felt very good for scratching, but mixing with the Cue-problems was no fun!

I really don't understand all the hype around Z2, when the same djm-t1 droped its price and is a Pioneer mixer.

Why someone reasoned enough, trusts NI's first mixer but not one of the best mixer companies in the world like Pioneer?

How bout the fader issue?
Mine is working like no mixer I ever had. In fact using it with TSP is reall fun. But that is only if you dont need to trix around with mappings cuz that Word censored (guess you find it I love walking on it) aint easy in NI products.
Then again, I have the F1, two X1s and the Z2 so it fits flawless together.
The fader is now excellent. Even found a solution to the stiff upfaders.
But I wouldnt use this mixer with any other system than TSP. Its buildt for TSP. Usin Cross I would to go with the DJM-T1 but its only 2 channels so if u want to use 4 decks.... well.
