Track collection as a selectable view in main screen

Postby discopex on 22 Jan 2013, 21:04

I'd like to see an option where we could lose the collection view
on the 'main' screen and just use space bar to view the tracklist.
This would provide more screen estate for samples and locators
as the colletion view is already kind of useless on a 13.3" screen.

When you press 'space' on the keyboard how is it ?

When the space bar is pressed the view is just fine, but the regular main screen view doesn't need any collection showing at the bottom of the screen (which is just a useless couple of rows when you have sample pads and/ or locators filling up the screen). Why not get rid of the collection view altogether in main display ? a bit like Cross for iPad - now there's a neat GUI! :)

Ok you don't even want to see a line from the collection there that's it ?
So you'll end up to switching from decks to collection ?
(I want to be sure that I have understood you correctly before sent this to the GUI guys...) ;)

Exactly ! ;)
GUI options are becoming more important since we are going to see more touchscreen laptops (probably getting myself one in near future). Simpler/customizable main screen would significantly improve the workflow, I myself would perhaps like to trigger samples or cues directly on touchscreen (plus needledropping etc). But at the moment the screen is kinda crowded.
