Into the 2.3rc, I did this : - hotsampling the first 3 pads with a different settings for each of them (full/1-shot/hold - saved the bank - quit Cross - restart - reload the saved bank All my pads still have the assigned mode. Then I go into 2.2 - load the saved bank and all my pads still have the assigned mode. I re-did the whole procedure by creating a new bank with 2.2 and re- open it into 2.2 and it sill works !!! So for me saving/re-loading pads mode is ok. Any special scenario to trigg the issue ?

Did you load a sample bank, or just sample tracks associated within the bank? Make sure all the samples you want in a specific playmode have indeed this playmode in your bank
There is an issue when using the submenu (and command) for a track : "load into sampler -> Pad " But loading a sample bank should set the correct play mode
