I don't see why it will break anything because you're supposed to do this in safeboot mode, so you're without ANY particular drivers ATM. If it doesn't boot in normal mode, get back to safeboot an revert to initial drivers.
juice88, if you don't understand or are not familiar with computer give the job to someone that does. I don't want to hear anyone complain that their computer is bricked.
For now there is no solution, we're trying/testing things to understand.
Let's move on guys : I need to find the common point on the system that have issue, so : what os/cpu/chipset (motherboard references or exact laptop model name) are you running on all the computer having this issue ?
Thanks.

I use:
Lenovo ThinkPad SL-510 Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core T4500 2.30 GHz
Is there any other information you might need?
Again: I never experienced problems with Cross and other Interfaces, everything went just glad. It definitely has to do something with the controller, due to the same problem appears to other users too and only with that controller.

Tonight I have: - Changed Realtek Audio Device to Windows HD Audio device (more on this later)
- Confirmed that I have in fact uninstalled the Intel Rapid Storage Technology service, program and driver.
I then ran through a series of scenarios and took screenshots from LatencyMon. The test conditions were: - Used Advanced SystemCare 4 Turbo Boost to disable all un-needed background programs/services, including disabling the aero theme.
- Cross set to a latency of 5.6ms (248 samples) at 44100Hz.
- UMCP2 powered by AC adaptor.
Scenario 1: Cross not running and my UMCP2 not connectedSummary TabProcesses TabDrivers TabScenario 2: Cross running, UMCP2 disconnected, a song playing in each deckSummary TabProcesses TabDrivers TabScenario 3: Cross not running, UMCP2 connected.Summary TabProcesses TabDrivers TabScenario 4: Cross running, playing a song in each deck, UMCP2 connected and used to load and start tracks.Summary TabProcesses TabDrivers TabI have to say that nothing jumps out here really. I will say that the audio was AWFUL - almost constant cracks, pops and cutouts. But in the other thread I noticed that audio was worse when I uninstalled the Realtek Audio Drivers. If I couldn't re-install those Cross would be totally unusable, but as it's an often proposed solution for the purpose of this test I decided to do try again.

Intel Core i3 2310M / HM65 / W7x64 Athion 64x2 4400 / Vista Intel Pentium T4500 / GM45-GM47 / W7x64 Nothing common between those computers... If you use the UMCP2 but with another soundcard as audio outputs, still have the issue ?

I don't have another soundcard to try that unfortunately.

I connected a simple ASIO Soundcard from Behringer and choosed it as Output. Much less Drop-Outs! But You can't mix like that, cause you can not cue...
On WinXP however, UMCP2 works fine. It's just the Win7 thing.
