So, the grand-kids have always known I've had a soft spot for making music compilations, and bought me an AVE Ezymix1 for Xmas because they think I'd be a good DJ. Oneof these things: http://www.djcity.com.au/dj-gear/dj-mid ... controllerApart from some Youtube videos from this AVE / DJ City outfit (same company) showing off the larger Exymix controller (which bears a strong resemblance to an American Audio VMS2) I can't find diddly-squat about it on the web. It's about as bare bones as you can get - the controller in a cardboard box, a "manual" consisting of two uninformative A4 pages stapled together, and a CD with Mac & PC versions of Cross DJ LE 1.1. No setup instructions, no how-to's, no what-plug-goes-where. Some googling shows an "EZYMIX.PDF" buried away at the DJ City website, but whatever it is, it isn't a PDF, because it's un-openable. Worse, AVE never answer emails. In fact, if I email them with the receipt flag set, I get a message back saying my email was deleted un-read. Chasing the only other brand name in the box - Mixvibes - has led me here. Now, what do I do with the bloody thing? Where do I go from here?

Right. And they have a downloadable PDF of their manual ... not that it actually tells me anything I can't read from the almost-identical front panel.
Where to now, guv?

The manual -- such as it is, which isn't much -- merely repeats the legends on the unit's controls (in multiple languages), some very rudimentary physical specifications data, and which office to send the Gemini to in case it breaks. And that's about it, frankly, not even a list of minimum requirements. When I pop the disk into my G3, I have two folders, 'Mac version' has a 'Cross DJ LE 1.1.0.dmg' which I can't open, and a 'PC version' with something similar ending in .exe and there's no use trying that because I'm not using Windows. How do I connect everything? What do I install, if I need to install something? I like a nice list of instructions I can tick off as I go along, where's me book o' words, son? I feel like I've been given a ruddy great Meccano set, but they left the spanners out and didn't bother to include the bolts neither, which is daft 'coz the only piece of paper in the box has two pictures on it, a screwdriver and a nut. Bloody Ikea The kids aren't any help, all they did was help the grand-kids with the shopping. They meant well, bless 'em, and I don't want to disappoint them just because Gandpa can't figure it out. As that bald chap says from one of their favourite movies, throw me an effin' bone please!

A BONE!
Ta for the welcome, Daniel, let's see if your book o' words can shed a few more glimmers.
(You might want to send a message up to management so they can Have Words with these AVE chaps. They only mention Mixvibe because it's in the box, they tell people the first they need to do is download that Virtual DJ stuff, which if I'm not mistaken, is your competition.)
