Problems adjusting pitch/tempo with jog wheels

Hello,

When using the controller in non-vinyl mode, I run into problems manually adjusting the pitch and tempo using the jog wheels. No matter how much I spin the jogs one way or the other, I can't seem to get the wheels to adjust the tempo and pitch more than a few points. Once I let go, it seems to revert back to the regular tempo/pitch of the song playing. My understanding is that in non-vinyl mode, the wheels should adjust the pitch/tempo....is that correct? I prefer not to use the sliders on the left and right because they act finicky when used (usually resulting in a very noticeable change in sound regardless of how delicately I move the slider up or down). I mostly use those when monitoring a song before playing it live on the speakers. Any tips or advice on what i may be doing wrong would be appreciated

info on the pitch sliders,, you can set the range to be able to control the pitch more accuratly,,not sure if the same is possible with the jogs in that mode ,more info coming

You can't control the pitch using the jog wheels.
You can pitch bend using the wheels (temporary higher/lower the pitch).

If you need more precision on the pitch slider, change the pitch range as Daniel told you.

use master tempo for that

Great...thanks for the info! What would be a recommended pitch range to set? I think right now mine is set to 100%. I've never adjusted it since using the Mixvibes controller and Cross software.

Also, what are some examples of when one would want to use the pitch bend? It seems that if some songs are between a 1-5 bpm difference and you use the "sync" or auto beatmatching, it's not really necessary to bend the pitch momentarily (or even for the duration of a song).

1) that mainly depends on the range of the bpm of your tunes you wanna play. originally most of the turntables have 8%, cdjs between 8-16% (high class models are adjustable 8-10-16%)

2) if u use tempo sync then of course u wont need to do that, thats for manual tempo adjustment

Would this be set using the "Mode" button on the controller? I believe it is called "MT" when cycling through the modes.

Interesting. It sounds like I'll have to play around with these ranges before doing anything live to see how it affects the sound.

I haven't done too much manual tempo adjustment as of yet, but given this new information about pitch ranges, I'll certainly look into it for my songs that transition from 10 to 20 or more BPMs when crossfading (usually the electro/house and hip-hop have this issue).

its all about practising, u know
