other thought would be to install on another computer and check for same senerio,, :frown: :frown: running out of ideas,. :frown: :frown:

Here's a revelation.

CrossDJ seems better.

Fewer audio crackles. Although I should've checked latency settings to compare.

One thing I noticed. Both deck a and b levels are nearly always in the red. The master isn't. Is that normal? The master volume is fine, but the only way I can affect the decks levels is by reducing the gain of each.

I am concerned about the SCSI driver...

No one has any thoughts on the above latencymon screenshot?

Could the problems I'm experiencing be caused by lack of power? Buying a power adpator is a cheap solution...

  still working on my situtation also,,will try a power adapter that was purched for a set of desk top comp speakers and will let you know,,even thought my problem runs in windows media player so it might not isolate it to a power issue, by just running the control pro ,,the software and comp will still be under pwr supply of the desk top

Is it me or wifi is still running ?
What is that dolby logo ? any background task with it ?

I'm more concerned the total execution time of some process : iastor.sys

You need to switch off some hardware (device manager panel) for now until we found out which one is giving you this issue.
- wireless card
- ethernet card
- internal soundcard

Do them one at a time and test to see if anything change.

Apologies, poor screenshot to use. Wifi was running, but it isn't when I'm using Cross. The Dolby logo is a program for "surround sound" on my laptop. It used to cause problems when it was enabled, specifically making the timecode signal drop after about 5 minutes, but now I'm not using timecode and routing sound through my laptop....?

Yeah, me too. This is "Intel Rapid Storage Management". I've disabled the service but running latencymon afterwards still shows it listed, and having a long execution time.

I disabled all of the above in the Device Manager.

I am no longer routing sound through my laptop.

I have Aero theme off.

I am using mains power - I now have an adaptor.

There are no more background services I can turn off.

Latencymon still says I am good, apart from something that is recording lots of hard page faults.

STILL I'm getting crackles when I press play or load a track. But STILL none are actually recorded! I also get freezes during these times too. Using effects and loops causes no issues. If I start navigating around playlists, either with my laptop or the Pro 2 I sometimes get a small freeze.

I really don't know what to try next. And I don't understand what has changed to cause this to happen. Tempted to go back to 2.0 and see if I still have issues.

Thanks Daniel. I did read your earlier warning and did see the sticky. I do have a rubbish memory though so worth prompting me again. ;)

Sorry for being late, but two more things:

what's your hdd's speed? 5400rpm?

Did you try yo work with a windows graphic driver instead of an Catalyst/Detonater/whatever ATI and NVIDIA call their drivers????
Viele Grüße,
Cheers,
A plus,
Steve

I will have to check the HDD speed. This wasn't an issue pre-2.1.

It's just an Intel graphics card.
