Split Monitor set up - PLEASE Help

Long story short I just moved and a DJ is needed for an event tomorrow night. My gear hasn't arrived here yet so I only have my laptop and Cross. I see that apparently (http://www.mixvibes.com/content/dj-cable) I can use a splitter from my audio jack and run one line to my headphones and one to the amp. However, when I do this the cue still comes through both the jacks. I have selected "Split Mono" in the audio settings. What am I doing wrong?

I am also open to downloading other Mixvibes software if that is required.

Obviously nobody has replied but I think I know the problem. The splitter I have is designed to split the signal it's just a y adapter. Hopefully I can find one at the local shops or I'm going to be mixing deaf. That should be interesting.....

Hello,

Did you check the "cue/mix" knob position ?
It should be all the way left so that you can only hear the cue thru the phones.
